Oakmont of Montecito is huge. It is gorgeous. Touring the place was like going to Club Med or something. They have their own movie theater, beauty salon, workout room, personal trainers on staff for fitness, and an aviary with birds in it. The one thing I liked about Oakmont of Montecito is the accommodations. They were like a mini condo. It's got two bedrooms, a den, a private deck, a private laundry, and a full kitchen. It would be more spacious and more accommodating for mom. It was all expensive, but it was beautiful. Also, they offer garages as part of their accommodation.
The director was very polished, very knowledgeable, and so compassionate. Their menu was more of a gourmet style. So, it's a little bit fancier. I was given a nice little package with macarons when we finished the tour.
Everything about it is top-notch, except that they had private rooms for the memory care residents whereas the other facilities had more of a community feel to it, where they interacted with each other. So, I just felt my dad could get kind of lost and lonely there.

I visited Oakmont of Montecito. It was a beautiful place, but I just can't afford it.
I liked everything about the place. It was wonderful. The people were nice. It was clean. They were very friendly, and they had lots of activities. There wasn't anything I didn't like about it, except the price.
They didn't serve us any food, but they did give us some cookies. They were delicious.
Their memory care looked very safe. I would have felt comfortable placing my mom there, but I can't afford it. The people were all gathered out in groups, milling, watching TV, or playing games. Some of them that could get around are out leaving or coming back. Anybody I talked to said that they really liked it there.
The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and roomy. They seemed very nice. A gentleman was in his room. When I asked if I can look in, he said yes and seemed very comfortable and happy there.

I loved Oakmont of Montecito. It was very nice. I liked it. The staff who helped me out was great. She seemed to understand the process and how hard it is to put one of your loved ones in a facility. In terms of activities, I saw them exercising, there were group things going on, and then they had a lot of staff, so that's good. The dining area was good. There were tables and you could sit down and eat by yourself or with the crowd. It was adequate. The building is built in a square and all the stuff is inside, like the courtyard. They have a real nice fountain, they have a fireplace, and they have musical things where groups would come in and play for the people. It looked like a really great place. The building had a nice curb appeal. It looked great.

I liked Oakmont of Montecito. It was very spacious. They seemed very caring about the residents. The food menu looked very good. The place looked very clean and very nice. The staff who showed us around was very knowledgeable about the facility. They knew a lot about how they care for people with Alzheimer's, so it was a good experience. They had a patio. They were remodeling it because they expanded memory care. We didn't go out there, but looking through the windows, they were working on that. They had an open courtyard and it looked like it was going to be very nice as well.

I toured Oakmont at Montecito and had a great experience. The lady was very informative, very patient, and very knowledgeable. She went above and beyond with the information she gave me. It's just that the facility was much, much larger than what we needed. Their dining room area was smaller for the memory care, so it felt crowded to me. It was also older, but overall it was a nice facility. They were doing some remodeling of the rooms, and they looked nice.

Out of 9 places we've been to, Oakmont of Montecito is one of two that we would consider bringing my mother to. My tour there was great. There was somebody there to greet us, there was somebody there while we waited for the director to make sure any needs we had were tended to (i.e. coffee, water, whatever). The interview with the director was great. We were there for the memory care unit, and I love the memory care unit. The rooms were nice, clean, and well-kept. The whole place was clean and well-kept as well, and there was the interaction between the staff and the residents. We weren't able to try the food because the residents were eating, but it smelled delicious and look good. And I would say from what I observed, it was well-balanced. I can't think of anything they need to improve on. The place was nice, there was adequate room, and activities were going on to keep the residents busy and engaged. There was visitation going on, and it was just a relaxed, calm atmosphere.

I did a physical tour of Oakmont of Montecito before COVID. The staff member was phenomenal. She was great, very informative, gave me a lot of good ideas, and very positive. I was very impressed with the place. There's one unit with two people per bedroom and then you share a bath. The dining room was down the hall. It's a long hall, so Mom would have to learn to walk inside.

Oakmont of Montecito is very nice. We have a deposit down and we are waiting for a room there. The rooms are lovely and spacious. They have options with private bathrooms or shared bathrooms. They have a bird atrium for their memory care, which is lovely. Everybody was very professional.
