Brookdale Auburn is a very nice facility. It's big and very clean. The rooms were very nice. The person that we talked to and took us on the tour was very informative, very cordial, and helped answer questions that we had. It's a very good facility. I did not try the food, but it looked good. For activities, some people were doing crafts, several people were watching a movie, and some people were visiting with each other.

I went to look at Brookdale Auburn, and they were just way out of my price range. I met some lovely residents there. I enjoyed the interaction between the person who was giving the tour and the folks who lived there. The staff knew their names, and you could tell he had a personal, ongoing relationship with each one. One of the residents was very excited to show me her room. She invited us in to take a look at the layout and all of that. She was excited about a bunch of paintings and her own paintings that she had done in art class. It was just nice to see that what interested the residents there were the things that they made sure they had access to.
They had a walk-around area that was accessible to them and all fenced in, so the residents could go in and out. That door was not locked because it was in a secure area. They had plants, bird feeders, a barbecue area, and all kinds of things to occupy them outside. It smelled clean, and there were no offensive odors. Everyone seemed happy and welcoming. There were only positive things that people had to say. It was a very nice environment. I would have loved to use it for my mom. I looked at their menu, and the food smelled good. They also had daily specials, so you could get a different thing every day, and I thought that was well thought out.

I toured Brookdale Auburn. The outside of the building and the grounds were really nicely kept and clean. The inside part that we saw like the communal area was really nice and clean. It was very well taken care of. The people walking around were happy, so that was a really good sign. We got to view the memory care facility specifically. The person that gave the tour was really helpful and really kind. She was really easy at dealing with my parents and me, so she was very helpful. In the memory portion of the facility specifically, the residents were sitting in the little eating area and listening to some music. They all seemed to be enjoying it.

My second choice is Brookdale Auburn. The staff and the facility were all high quality. One reason I didn't choose that was that they did not have a room available in the timeline that I was looking for, and the other facility did. I might just as easily have chosen Brookdale because it's clean, it looks well managed, and the people were friendly and welcoming. They have a memory care area, too, so I think my mother would have gotten good care there as well. The rooms were well maintained. It was a nice facility. It looked like a good quality place. The dining area looked very nice. It might have been close to a meal plan and people were sitting at tables and it looked very well maintained and very nice. The surrounding is bright, cheerful, clean, and well maintained. It's a high-quality facility. The person who gave me the tour was very nice.
