Scottsdale Village Square (SVS) provides care, safety & security for Mom. The medical & caregiver staff are amazing. Mom enjoys her apartment space & peaceful environment. I’m better able to love & support Mom while trained personnel can help with the ongoing challenges of Alzheimer’s Brain Disease. God Bless you SVS. ~Mary Lisa

My dad has lived in the memory care area on the first floor for 1 year now. The best thing about this facility is that every single unit opens to the outdoors. On the first floor, that is a decent size open grassy area that he can walk around with flowering plants and caged parakeets (or maybe they are lovebirds). It really feels like an apartment so that residents feel independent. They provide all food, meds, cleaning, etc. if an ER visit is needed then tgey take care of that. They have nurse practitioners that visit the facility that will take care of their healthcare My dad is happy with everything so far. He seems to think the food is okay but I haven’t tried it so I’m not going to rate it They do have quite a few activities ... but reduced with Covid. They do a great job of keepIng families informed. My dad has fallen a few times Getting out of bed and they always call me right away. The staff is nice. They do take AZLTC which made it affordable for my dad.

The room my Dad resides in always smells good, even though he is incontinent. Staff members are responsible to request to arrange for a "zoom" visit with Dad, this is especially good during Covid restrictions. We would choose SVS again.

My sister has been in Scottsdale Village Square for three months now. They have independent and assisted living. They also have long-term and short-term nursing and memory care facility. There is a mixture of old people there. My sister has onset of dementia and she is on a unit with people around her age. Each unit has about 15 rooms. She has her own room, which is just like a bedroom in a house. Everything there has to be wall mounted. Even her TV is wall mounted. Her door opens to a courtyard which is controlled by security gate that she can't open. At night they have security outside that walks around and controls the grounds. In terms of activities, they have cards, bingo, movie nights, etc. They also have beauty parlor on site. They do day trips where they take residents out to Wal-Mart or to go shopping and stuff. They also do physical therapy and they would take people to doctor appointments if need be. Food is good; however, they're not allowed to have any food in their room. They have to go to the dining room to eat and even for their snacks. They control their intake of sodas and they're not allowed any caffeine. The working staff is good. They have their own nurse and aides.
