Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care was an excellent facility. I didn't get to eat anything, but they said they had a gourmet chef. They had snacks going around in the afternoon. They tried to accommodate memory care people with memory care activities. However, I don't think my dad is ready for that right now. I met two staff people and the lady who is like a salesperson, but I think she's more than that. I thought she was very good. I only saw one room. It was a little bit small, but it would certainly be adequate for my dad as he doesn't have a ton of clothes. They furnished just a certain amount of things and then encouraged you to bring in your own stuff, and they had room for that. They were probably about like any other facility. They were celebrating the holidays quite a bit there already. The room was good. They had a puzzle and game room, and they had what was called a calm room. It had structural lighting and pictures and sounds. I like that. I thought it was a good place.

I was very impressed with Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. They're an assisted living and memory care facility and my husband needed more than assisted living. They didn't have the equipment to get him up because he was kind of stocky. So, they were just afraid that they would either drop him or he would fall. They seemed to have a lot of activities for their residents, which I liked. They have around 4 to 5 in one day. The rooms were very nice and bigger compared to other places. I saw their 2 dining areas. They go by the Mediterranean diet, where they don't fry their food at all. To me, they're trying to help their residents be on a good diet. One of the things I was impressed with was that if you ate there with a resident, they offered you free meals.

Our experience with Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care was very good. The community was very nice. I liked their interaction with the elderly. They seemed to be really attentive to their needs. The rooms were very nice, very well maintained, and kept up. They have several courtyards that they're allowed to walk and barbecue in. They have a vegetable garden that allows the people to go out and get involved, and they play a lot of games with them. The dining area looked very nice and clean. It's a very nice atmosphere. The staff member during the tour was very knowledgeable and very helpful with all the questions.

My mother-in-law will be moving into Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. It's very clean and well taken care of. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. I think all the amenities that she needs are there for her because it specializes in Alzheimer's patients. The dining area was a nice area. It's not real big, but it's nice and it looked really clean. They offer all kinds of activities there like arts and crafts. They have a special room where they can go in and sit in there and enjoy the relaxation. It's a nice room. You don't have to wear masks or anything when you go in there and you don't have to go through a computer to draw your information down. You just have to sign a signing sheet and a couple of questions and they take your temperature. They were more economical than the other place as far as how much it costs. We were impressed as soon as we went there.

We did go and see Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was an in-person tour. Respite care was what we were looking for my mother-in-law. She does have dementia, but all we were looking for was for her to have some supervised care for like a mini vacation. There wasn't anybody that wasn't being attended to. They have no corners where anybody can hide and be forgotten. It was very homey. It was kind of like going to grandma's house. They have different hallways for the rooms and stuff and each one is themed, so you know where you are, and all the other ones we visited, all the hallways look alike. I like that you weren't getting lost. They've got a really nice activity schedule. They want to keep everybody engaged there. Everything can be seen, and it's all open and airy and there are a lot of windows. They've got an open activity area where you can go in and read or do puzzles or whatever. There is a community area for TV and whatnot. It's really neat. It's not like institutional, where there's like a whole bunch of chairs in front of the TV. It was the neatest place that I've seen yet. The staff members were awesome. It was amazing. They have personalized stuff. It was homey and friendly.

My mom is in Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. I chose that place because of the way I saw the residents; they are really happy. These people deal with horrible diseases, and yet the way they're interacting, they're happy. The place is very lit up -- it was light, not dark and somber -- and that is what attracted me to that place. My mom's case is really difficult, so I am just really observing; maybe it is not the right place, but right now I am just watching. The staff is great; they're doing all they can. They don't allow dining in. You just go in the room, you visit in the room, they walk you to the room, and when you're done with the visit, they walk you back out. Another thing that attracted me to that place is they keep the residents really engaged in activities, and they understand the aging process. They have activities from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and that is something that attracted me there. They have a nurse on site at all times -- an RN -- and that attracted me to them, too.

We toured Magnolia Place Assisted Living and Memory Care. We really liked it a lot. None of the patients were in their rooms when we visited. They were all out either doing activities or sitting with others, which is I want. I do not want my dad to stay in his room all the time. The director there knew everybody's name, and it was obvious that they actually talk to the patients. If it had not been for his health crisis, we would not be looking at another place. My mother still drives, and she wanted a place where she can go and visit. This met all of our needs. They were wonderful and I love them. We were looking at a two occupancy. I like that they were not side by side. Although they shared a bathroom, they have a very distinct place that was theirs. Several others are not like that. This allows them to have their own territory so to speak and feel like it is their home. It was a place that specializes in Alzheimer's, and he is in the latter stages of Alzheimer's. He is 87 and has been very, very healthy, but the timing just was not good. They have a lot of organized activities there, and you knew what was going on. It was very clean. I like that the staff interacted with the management, which was cool because it was all like a family-like atmosphere. The girls cleaning said hello to the director that we were walking around with, and she said hello to them. That kind of thing that makes it seemed less chaotic, I guess. There were big, large halls so that it was not crowded. A large crowd stresses my father out. Each hallway was distinct, so they can identify the military hallway versus the other hallways. One of the hallways is probably like women's fashion and stuff. Everything of that facility was focused on the patient and that is the key thing to takeaway. They were focused on the patient. Also, they did not have any Covid cases at all.

They don't have enough staff and the ones who do show are a mixed bag. Some really care and try hard and the rest ... they shouldn't be working around people. I wouldn't hire them or trust them. Activities don't seem to be goin on. I never see any. The place is nice enough but I don't think my family member was paid much attention too.
