About This Community

We’ve taken the blueprint for traditional senior living and put it right where it belongs—the trash can. It wasn’t hard. Traditional senior living communities stink. We believe that if a community’s focus is strictly on care, they don’t care enough.

We have two living options under one roof.

Assisted Living is ideal for residents who value their independence but may need a bit of help from time to time. Our community team members are raving fans of encouraging independence with assistance readily accessible at all times of day.

Memory Care is for our Elders who are living with some form of memory loss. Every member of the Thrive at Jones Farm team is NIDE (National Institute for Dementia Education) certified. That includes everyone from the chefs and housekeepers to the concierge and nurses. The education allows us to interact with our memory care residents as unique individuals rather than objects in need of care. Residents are engaged with the goal of helping them recapture moments of memories and the recognition of loved ones.

At Thrive, we’ve dedicated our lives to ensure there is a purpose in every breath of each resident we’re honored to serve. We understand that Elders and their loved ones depend on us not only to live but to live well. It’s a challenge we welcome – every day.

I toured Thrive at Jones Farm. There seems to be a larger number of people, a more open space area for things to occur than what I've seen in some other places, and the facility itself is very modern. They just opened about five years ago, I think. The staff who assisted me was highly knowledgeable and helpful with any questions that I have. I roughly sort of saw their dining area facility, but the menu did not have many options. The rooms were very good and good-looking. They had some capability to take in a couple, but they were waitlisted at this point for a significant amount of time, so we didn't pursue that route. As for activities, I saw that there was a group going on there, but I did not see what activity they were doing. However, they have a standard list of activities.

My mother was a resident in the Woodlands (memory care unit) at Thrive at Jones Valley Huntsville. This was one of the worst experiences my sister and I have experienced. We experienced a lot of talk from the administration on the staffs knowledge of dementia and how they deal with the residents , although this was not shown during my mother’s care. Cleanliness of her room and bathroom was not observed. Her routine of daily living skills including bathing, teeth brushing, face washing, dressing etc. was not always carried out. Communication skill between staff and family did not happen. My overall opinion of this facility is one of concern. This facility is not recommend to others that are looking for a caring home for their loved one.

This place is all show and lacks substance to perform all the things it promises to do for residents. Truly not there for residents when they need them the most. Staff sitting on phones while residents wondered or sitting unengaged for hours on end. Not the service they promise. Needs staff training and accountability and could be a facility that the brochures say and CEO/managers think it is.
