Oak Park Place Madison looked very nice. We liked that there were actually people down in the common areas. The facility itself and the apartment they showed me were very nice. The independent living is associated with the assisted living and the nursing home there, which is a good stepping block. The buildings are kind of attached. They have a pool, bingo, craft things, and happy hour once a week. My mother-in-law was there in the assisted living area this year. There has been some staff turnover, but it wasn't really their fault as everybody's having staff shortages.

Our tour at Oak Park Place Madison's independent living was very nice and very informative. It's a lovely place with a lot of services. The person who gave the tour was very personable, very nice and willing to answer all my questions. We saw three of the rooms, they were very nice and looked well cared for. We only looked at two bedrooms. They had a smaller 2-bedroom, a medium 2-bedroom, and then they had a 2-bedroom with a den. Their dining area was very well appointed. They had a small exercise room, there was a yoga class going on and they told me is that there was a swimming pool in another building. On each floor there was a communal place where you could go, we saw people putting puzzles together in that area. It looks like they have activities, cards, and different things that you enjoy. The staff who assisted us was very good.

Oak Park Place Madison was quite a very nice facility, but the menu was not what I would be comfortable with. Also, the big problem there was that it was very close to an interstate highway and with the window open, or even if you go outside, the noise level was phenomenal. The facility was nice and the people were pleasant. The location was just impossible for us. They also didn't have quite the range of activities that we found in other places. The staff member who gave us the tour was quite good. The place was also quite new.
