Brookdale Park Place had nice rooms. They didn't have full kitchens, but they feed you three times a day. We met their chef and the food smelled good and made you hungry. The staff went the extra mile to show my friend everything. They had good sized rooms. They had a small refrigerator and a microwave, but as far as the kitchen goes, it was like a kitchenette type deal. They have community washroom facilities, and it didn't cost you anything.
There was snow on the grounds still, but those things that were usually open in the spring and summer were covered, so they take care of their outdoors very well. It's a big place. They've got activities to do and transportation. They don't have lift capability on their vehicles. My friend runs around on a scooter and they don't have any ability for her to ride on her buses. She has to climb up the stairs or be able to climb up the stairs on a bus. They've got a parking area.
The facilities were excellent, real good, and real clean. They said they had to put a cleaning crew in the apartment that we looked at, but they took real good care of them because they weren't dirty at all. It was very clean and it looked like the rugs had already been shampooed for me.

Brookdale Park Place was very clean and well taken care of. It's an older facility, and so they're doing a lot of updated work, but it was in very good shape. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I got to speak with some of the residents that are currently living there, and they had wonderful things to say as well about living there. I thought it was just a really nice place.
I looked at four separate apartments and they had a huge variety in floorplans, and a few of the apartments were not set up very well. It's an old brick building and a few of the bathrooms and the kitchens were not greatly user friendly for an older individual, but they did the best that they could do with the structure of the facility.
The staff during the tour was fabulous. I was invited last week to a holiday dinner, but it hasn't worked with my schedule. I went down to the dining hall and that's where I met several of the residents, and the food looked very good and the residents gave it very good reviews. They're constantly doing repairs just because of the age of the facility.

Brookdale Park Place is an older community. It's a beautiful setting. It's like a 100-year-old building. It is very nice. It was better than the other facility, that's for sure. The rooms were spacious. They had a full meal plan. The rooms had only a very small, modest kitchen, so the intent was that the residents eat in the community setting, so that was very different. It was clean, and the rooms were good sized except for that little kitchen. The hallways were good, clean, and well-lit. They had working elevators, which was good. So overall, it was a pretty decent place. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice, outgoing, and has contacted me afterward several times. The dining area was huge. They have their own chef. I saw the residents eating lunch. I was offered lunch there, but I did not eat it. They had plenty to eat. They had dessert, they had vegetables, they had spaghetti, meatballs, and salads. They had a big kitchen to support it, and they had people out there serving, so it was a thorough offering.

I visited Brookdale Park Place. Overall, the place is good. The staff is very educational and friendly. The facility is clean. The apartments were spacious and comfortable. They have outdoor activities and game-room facilities. Due to COVID, the cafeteria was closed.
They are on the outskirts of Spokane Valley; it was a little off of a main street. The place seemed very soothing and comfortable.

Brookdale Park Place is fine, but it's too much money. The room I saw was tidy. The staff was friendly, but they don't like people just dropping in like I did. They have everything that's necessary. They have a dining room and a lobby. The place was clean and well taken care of.

Brookdale Park Place was wonderful, but we did not get to see a room. We got to eat there, and the food was fabulous. The place was very clean, and they had proud, well-mannered, and well-trained staff. The residents seemed very happy, content, and a nice class of people. The dining room was wonderful. It even had tablecloths, which was very pleasant. I loved the country-like atmosphere. It was an old sanitarium, built back in the '20s or '30s and was in a wonderful, old brick building. The new part is the assisted living, but I just loved the old atmosphere and the surroundings. It looked like a big park.

Brookdale Park Place was very nice. The building itself is historic. It was the old TB Sanitarium; they remodeled it and are still doing some more remodeling now. It was right across the street from a park. They were very friendly and very nice people. It was very affordable, and they had a number of different types of apartments. It had a separate assisted living and they stair step from the standpoint of being independent and help you as much as they can as you go through your aging process. If they have to do more services for you, they provide them for a fee, but keep you independent as long as possible. When it is no longer possible to keep you in independent, they do move you over to the assisted living facility. They had lots of activities, which were reasonable. I seriously consider it as a home when needed. The rooms were spacious -- which had a stove and appliances -- and they were comfortable. Some of them have balconies, some didn't. They start serving food at a time in the morning, and they never shut down the diner. You can come in at 10:00 and get your breakfast. They were very flexible on the food.

The guy from Park Place gave us a tour and he was able to answer all of the questions that we had for him. We had a pretty good feeling about this facility. They showed us a couple of actual places that people live in. One area was clean but quite old. It was like a remodeled hospital area. And then there was another area that was much newer and seemed a lot nicer. Their staff seemed very adequate. There were also some stuff for residents to do there and it seemed like they were extended on both sides too. In other words, you can live there independently and then they also have the assisted living area. I thought Park Place was doing a very good job of servicing their residents.
