Our Assisted Living Program is designed for people who are still reasonably self-sufficient, but need a higher level of care than independent living provides. We meet with each resident and family to conduct an assessment prior to move-in. I like Parkview Estates very much. When I arrived, everyone was in the assembly room singing as loud as they could with the piano player, which I thought was very, very nice. The place looked very, very clean, very lighted, and it had very nice decorations there. I did truly like it. The apartment that I saw was just a little bit too small in the bathroom area because of my wheelchair. They're going to get me one with a larger bathroom and they're very, very amenable. I came home with the menu. I also have a calendar of activities. They have a piano concert, exercise classes, bingo, happy hours, medical transport day, a book club, and bingo. They got so many things. My church is only half a block away from them, which I was delighted to see. They've got some old-time fiddlers coming in with bluegrass music. They've got Jeopardy. I'm almost independent. I just need help with showers and I'm getting better at that. I don't need help otherwise. I do my own meds. The staff I met was just wonderful.

Parkview Estates was nice. They have a Coca-Cola room for parties, root beer float nights, other good spaces, and a bunch of stuff. The rooms were super nice, too, and spacious. The place was very clean. The dining room is open all day. They get three meals a day and snacks, plus they can order what they want. They can also have their car if they want to and they can come and go as they please. One thing I didn't like was it was in the middle of a neighborhood.
