I went to tour Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living. You can start in independent living and if you need assisted living, they'll offer that, too, on different levels. I liked it. I liked the building, I like the facilities, and I like the staff and some of the residents that I met. The empty room that I went into was a one-bedroom, and it was adequate. They had a regular refrigerator (not a little midget one) but no stove. It was roomier. You could have a queen-sized bed and still have space in your bedroom. The living room was much larger than any of the other ones I saw.
They kind of pointed things out in the different rooms that they did there. They showed us a lovely library. There are tables all around the whole building where you could do puzzles or play cards. They have a lot of activities on their calendar. They have all-purpose bingo, several other games, and little tournaments. They take you on little trips if you want to and they go to the doctor. There is transportation available and a parking lot if you have a car, which I do. The staff was very nice, very pleasant and helpful.
