About This Community

Peoples Retirement Community opened its doors in 1988. The idea of Pastor Owen Shackett (of Peoples Church) and his wife Betty saw a need for retirement living in this community. Originally designed for independent living, the need for an assisted living quickly became apparent and began slowly admitting residents requiring assistance. A few years later resulted in the first floor, the east wing being remodeled to accommodate memory care.

Peoples Retirement Community provides options for our seniors for Independent living, Assisted Living, and Dementia Care.

They can’t keep employees, because they don’t pay anything. When my father first got there they were charging $4000 a month. The food was horrible. When questioning about the monthly bill, the only thing we heard was I’ll get back to you and try to fix it. That never happened. This place likes to promise a lot of things to their elderly residents ,but they do nothing that they say they’re going to do. My father died of Covid from that place after nine people had already gotten Covid. Thanks People’s retirement center. Please please research any place you are going to put your love one. Do not put them in this place. Hopefully this place will stay closed! Thanks Sydney, you’re a do nothing Overpaid admin. You should work in Health Care and learn real Compassion. What a sham this place is. Stay closed.
