When people ask me what I like about living at UH, I immediately talk about the vibrant community that involves both residents and staff. University House provides a friendly, safe environment that includes extensive programming on all levels. I have lived here for 3 yeas and am continually impressed with the commitment by residents and staff to provide these amenities that so definitely enrich our lives.

Apartments are very well laid out, lots of light and storage. Common areas very well maintained. Food excellent with a good range of choices. Staff excellent, helpful and supportive. Many activities over a range of interests. Because of a strong connection with the University of Washington, many residents are intellectually active. Large library. Neighborhood is a mix of residential and small business, very walkable, good access to public transit.

Great choice for independent living. Good community size for finding a small group of like-minded individuals without being overwhelmed with too large a community or hampered with too small a community. A great retirement community to get involved in rather than just being a retirement facility to end your days in - it all depends on how you look at. Variety of activities for different interests. Good public transportation to get around and about on your own. Walkable neighborhood.

It’s a beautiful facility, very well maintained. The apartments are spacious. When my mother was there I went to many if the concerts and entertainments and enjoyed them all. The staff are very friendly and know residents by name. The meals are excellent with many choices at dinner. I particularly like joining my friends there at the weekly Knit & Stitch group.

University House is at the upper end of retirement homes, they only offer 27 meals a month, and the rest of it is on your own. There is a small garden. The staff was peasant and upscale. They have various lectures going on and musical things. The food was standard.
