Solstice Senior Living at Bellingham was very nice. We were shown a couple of different apartments and they were all very nice. The only problem that we had was that they don't take Medicaid. They had a studio there that had a kitchenette, a room for the living area, a nice bathroom, and a nice bedroom. The only problem with the bathroom was that there was a bathtub, and you had to step over into the bathtub to get in to take a shower. Otherwise, it was very nice. They had a nice sliding door out onto a patio. They showed us another room upstairs that didn't have a kitchenette. It was just a bedroom, a bathroom and a sitting area, but it was very nice and it was more affordable. It's something that we might go back to see. The staff during the tour was very helpful. She gave us all kinds of good information. I appreciate that. I didn't associate with very many staff, but the lady that gave us the tour was very, very good.

Solstice Senior Living at Bellingham was nice across the board. I only saw one room. It had good storage. It was on the first floor, so it wasn't as bright as I'd like it to be. It could have used an extra window. The advantage was there were no stairs or elevator. The rest of the building was lovely. The staff was excellent. They were very informative and very personal. It was clean, tidy, and had nice views. I liked that they had street signs, so that you could actually walk a block and get to a coffee place or to a little grocery store.

I visited Solstice Senior Living at Bellingham. It was very positive. I toured several rooms. I felt that one of their studios would be okay in terms of space, even though I'm in a two-bedroom apartment now. They were lovely, they offer lots of services including life alert. I have one, but I could stop paying for mine, and they would give me the same one. They have bus rides and transportation. Their meal facilities look excellent. The menus are varied; you can order Ala-carte if you don't like the main menu selections. I was ready to go there, but it was just too much money. They tried to get me a deal and all, but it's just too much money. When I talked it over with my brother, he thinks assisted living is where I need to be if I get any worse and not try independent living. They offer some services. They have PT, they do offer some medication help, which is much more than the other facility does.

I toured the community with Randi, she showed me the entire building and grounds and I viewed it from my mom's eyes. Randi took the time to sit down with me and learn about my mom, not just her immediate physical needs but who she is, her interests and personality. I was shown a studio apt as well as a 1-bedroom. Both were very nice with balconies, we had a tape measure so I could picture where furniture would go, no full kitchen in the rooms but there is a sink, mini-fridge and room for a microwave and hot plate if desired. Their kitchen is 3-meals a day with a 24-hr coffee cart and snack bar. The activities calendar was full and diversified. Overall this would be a very nice place for my mom and I would feel good about her living there. We haven't yet decided on a community as her house needs to be sold first. Thank you Randi for making me feel so welcomed.

Our parents have lived at Solstice Senior Living in Bellingham, WA for almost 5 years. They consider it home and have insisted this is where they want to be. Larry, the Executive Director has been extremely accommodating as their needs have changed and helped guide us in helping to meet our parents changing needs. Our family feels our parents are very safe living at Solstice, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Larry and the staff have worked diligently to have the community vaccinated to help restore some normalcy inside the community and have made great efforts to keep the residents engaged. Nutrition is so important for seniors and the whole menu range was available and delivered 3 times a day to each apartment during the periods of lockdown due to Covid-19 restrictions. The staff is very friendly, yet professional and feel like our extended family. They are always willing to offer guidance and assistance when needed. We all appreciate the open airiness of the entry and common areas where the residents can socialize, read and play. There are numerous opportunities provided by the staff for socializing as is possible during Covid-19 as well as during normal times. Our family feels fortunate to have a community like Solstice where our parents can live safely yet independently. My sister and I looked at several other communities when our parents were relocating from their previous home in the midwest. This facility stood out and it was the one our folks liked too. It has turned out to be the best situation possible and exceeded our expectations.

We were disappointed that Solstice didn't have WiFi throughout the building. This is supposed to be a premier place, but technology wise, we didn't agree. The rooms seemed fine, but it didn't end up being at the top of our list. We had lunch there, and the food was good. The menu was good because there were choices, and I liked that. You have your standards and things you can always get, and then they have a couple of choices each day as well. It seemed to be a good variety.

I would have chosen Solstice Senior Living if not for the location. I was impressed with the staff, facilities, and activities. The units aren't large, but adequate, and very acceptable. It was impressive looking and clean, and had a caring staff. They had a full-time activities director.

I liked it a lot. The only problem that I didn’t realize at that time was it doesn’t have assisted living, which I am going to need. The sales manager was very nice. He drove out here to pick me up, and on the way back, he gave one of the elderly ladies a ride so she go could go for a ride in the country. He sat me on the table with 3 elderly ladies who knew a lot about this place and their activities. Food was good. I had very little to find fault with it until I realized afterwards that I am not sure if I am going to be able to get the VA to help pay for my stay there since there isn’t any assisted care. They got a lot of positive things. I discussed with some of the men there about the activities, including political activities, and found a wide spectrum of people who were open-minded. It is a convenient location for my family to get there. Good activities, lot of things that sell, except for one drawback which is that I can’t come up with financial assistance.

It was a very nice place. We had lunch there, and the food was very good. The staff was very caring. The rooms were fine but small. They had bingo, movies, Bible studies, and shopping trips.

I really liked it, but they don't have assisted living or memory care. It's mostly retirement homes, so anything else you’d need, you'd have to privately have someone else come in. They’re a nice facility for retirement, but there are no nurses or extra care there. There's just a warm, fuzzy feeling to it. It’s very easy to navigate, and it's a warm community.

I moved my mother back to where she used to be here, the same place she moved from. Everything worked out just fine. I tried and moved her back there because we checked out other places and that she decided she want to go back to where she moved from. All her friends are still there, and everything is the same, although she is in a different apartment. The dining is wonderful. Her studio is the same type of studio she had before; everything just worked out really well. The cooperation and the help I got from the staff there in moving her back and the willingness to work with me because it was a long distance was great. I did it all on the phone, and they were willing to. They were very cooperative as far as paperwork and involved with saying in everything in all that, setting up for payments. So they were very helpful with that. It was the best location for her, and they went over and beyond

I visited about a month ago. I went there because they invited me for a meal, and the food was pretty good. The place was very clean. The staff was good, and the residents were friendly. However, they don't have a nurse in the establishment which is why I didn't look into it as a final place to go.

I like it and everything is working out just fine with my mom. She's only been there for a week, but so far so good. The staff is good. Mom is happy there.
