I went to Cap Sante Court Retirement. Most of these independent living facilities are generally one or rarely two-bedrooms. They're designed for one or more people to live independently. If you needed assistance and it was not available, the community itself does not provide it. That was one of the drawbacks because I was looking for a place where there could be additional services provided once we were at a point where we needed that. As an independent living place, they're comfortable enough. They're designed to offer services such as transportation to medical appointments and the markets and things. Each of the units generally has a small independent kitchen that you can use, but they also provide meals regularly for people there and it's a little bit extra. They provide housekeeping services in some cases if you are willing. That's basically what they provide. My only hesitation is that the units are small, but probably many people who are living by themselves or don't have a companion or a spouse with them would find those types of the size of the units comfortable. It just didn't meet our needs. It's a single-level facility that is simply arranged around a courtyard. They offer some activities, but it's limited because of the changes that have been imposed. In other words, you can't even get into the facility until you go through a computer application in terms of testing temperature and everything before you can tour the facility.
