I like Brightview Baldwin Park because all the rooms were single. A lot of the other ones were more expensive, and they weren't single, and they didn't even have a divider between the beds, so it wasn't like you got your own room. Brightview's rooms were more like little apartments where it was their own bedrooms and their own bathrooms, so I like that a bit better. Also, they were good at calling back and answering the questions. The staff who showed me around was very friendly. She knew all the patients' names. I knew someone that lived there. She lived in an independent living apartment, and she had a small refrigerator, a stove, and a microwave in the apartment.

I'm in Brightview Baldwin Park. They have quite a few people here, maybe 100, it's in a beautiful area, they have a dining hall, there are meals, and it seems to be well run. The food is excellent, although right now we're in a virus situation, and the food is delivered to the room. It's not the same as it would be if we had our dining hall in operation, and we had a very good dining hall. The food is very good, well delivered, and the staff is fantastic. I'm very happy with it. Before the virus came, we had a lot of activities in the afternoon where people could get acquainted with each other and enjoy each other, but that had to close down.

When I got to Brightview Baldwin Park, they had already set up for one of the residents to have lunch with me, so I felt welcomed. The food was excellent. It's all-inclusive which means your meals and housekeeping are provided except your own telephone. The apartments are not as big as I would like, but they're sufficiently big enough. They do your towels, sheets and linens for you and have interesting exercise programs as well as other activities. It's the type of place that would make sure I come out of my apartment and participate. The food was excellent, and the staff was very personable.
