Hunters Woods at Trails Edge is very clean. It's only two years old, so it's new. It's very spacious and I just feel like my dad is well cared for there. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They have underground parking, which is very convenient on bad weather days. Then they offer art activities and exercise. They also have a fitness center, a library, and trips to different places. So, the activities are good. My dad enjoys the food too. It's a good value for the money.

I like that the independent living side of Hunters Woods at Trails Edge is only for people who can live independently, whereas some of the other facilities that we looked at had independent living but you could have assisted living next door to you. My father has moved in there and they're friendly people. Sometimes I don't know that they're as knowledgeable though as they should be. We've asked where something was within the facility and someone working at the desk didn't know. They have a fitness center, weekly outings, and get-togethers like Monday is for poker while Thursday is for movie night. So, they have quite a few activities. He ended up with a two-bedroom apartment, because he still works, and it's pretty spacious and everything for the money. They have a courtyard out in front, a balcony to himself, and more balconies off of the second floor where the dining room is. There are a couple of other ones that overlook the trails, which is nice. They have more of a sit-down dining where they fill out a menu the night before for the next day, and then when they come in, they just get served whatever they had already picked.

Hunters Woods is relatively new, so the décor is really warm, cozy, and more sophisticated. The way they set the model home is almost like how you're going to decorate your own place, so that's my first impression. The workers seem very friendly, and they pay attention to detail. We actually met other workers, like the maintenance and the café managers, and it was not like a pre-arranged meeting because they were still working. They came by and introduced themselves to us, and they told us a little bit about their working responsibilities. You can tell that they care about who you are as a customer, and they offer their help immediately, so those were good experiences as well. Service-wise, the manager is really interactive and offers lots of advice, regardless of whether or not you actually end up using it. They also cover a lot of good things with their program. It is a well-equipped facility with all the amenities, like a barber shop, a business center, and a theater, so it is a well-run facility. That's why we like it. The layout is pretty good, too.

Hunters Woods is a great value due to the upscale amenities, delicious meals, engaging activities and a team above all others who feel like family! Mom loves the art studio and couldn’t stop talking about the filet and lobster dinner. She was afraid of being alone but met the best friends there.
