We went to Sunrise at Countryside. We enjoyed that place. The staff were very caring. The rooms was very nice. It was a very pleasant place. The rooms were similar in size to the other facility. The dining area was very warm, friendly, and nice. They were a lot of activities happening there that we would have been interested in. We didn't see anybody doing them; we just saw their list of activities. People would go on tours or visit places. My husband speaks German, and he was looking for German-speaking people, but they did not have that.

We liked Sunrise at Countryside a lot. It's a smaller facility. The only reason that we won't take my mother there is that it's a little bit farther from family. We toured with the activities director. They don't have a washer and dryer, which may or may not be a concern for my mother. The place is older, but it's bright and cheerful. It's in a very nice location. It's among trees. They had a lovely garden and bird feeders. The activity director seemed to have a lot going on, and she knew the residents. The rooms we saw were a little bit on the small side, but they were nice. We liked the staff who gave the tour a lot, the activities director, and we like the front desk person a lot.

I visited Sunrise at Countryside. They had a combination of both assisted and independent living. I was looking at independent, but Sunrise has a gradual program. I actually liked Sunrise, but my mom didn't. I had to kinda go with her wishes right now and if things changed, I'll have to change it, too. I thought it was great. I don't know anything at all about the food because COVID is such a difficult time. I didn't actually see the activities, but they talked a lot about them. They keep people engaged.
The facilities were nice, clean and well-kept. The place smelled clean to me. I didn't smell anybody smoking. I think they're just pretty standard. It's not like they have swimming pools or any of that kind of stuff, but I know that they have little places where people can watch TV together and stuff like that. It wasn't super palatial, but it was nice enough. They had a great dining area, but it's re-arranged for COVID, which means they had to minimize how many people could actually be in there. It was very empty when I was there.

The room at Sunrise at Countryside was pretty nice, but the facilities were a little dated. We didn't love the location that much. They had small ground level, so there wasn't much of an outdoor walking space. They offer some sales, but it puts a little pressure on you to make a decision very quickly. They said it was all-inclusive, but it was a good price, especially for that area. However, several days later, I got a note saying that the price doesn't include all the meals, so I felt like there was deceptive pricing.

We visited Sunrise at Countryside. It was very nice, but the floor space of the apartment seemed very small for us. The lady who interviewed us was able to tell us a lot. The apartment was nice, but the biggest she could show us was 800 square feet, and we would have to get rid of a lot of things we had. If I had to go someplace, I think I could live there comfortably. There were people doing puzzles, doing laundry, and the meals are all included in the monthly fee. It seemed like a comfortable, friendly, and nice place. They had a physical therapist that we talked to, and she was quite good. The amenities seemed fine, there was nothing wrong with Sunrise at Countryside, and I think one could be happy there, but it was not appropriate for us at this time.

I'm very happy here at Sunrise at Countryside. The accommodations are great. The staff is excellent. They have meals, housecleaning, art classes, book club, trips to the grocery store, and exercise classes.
