What I liked the most about Court at Round Rock was their meal program. The food there was unbelievable. It's above restaurant quality and I was very surprised. The rooms were similar to the other place I'd looked at. The building's nice and a little newer. Their biggest selling point is their meal program and their chef. I didn't feel as comfortable there though. I didn't have a vibe as much as I did at the other place. There's a library, a game room, and a little fitness room. The staff during the tour was nice, but nothing outstanding. They just go about their jobs.

My mother has moved into Court at Round Rock. They have tons of activities. The staff there is always communicating with her. Some of the staff walk around the building with her and they are constantly engaging her and going up to her. If they don't see her for an extended period of time or out of a routine, they'll go to her room and check in on her and make sure she's okay. They set up a very friendly environment for all the people living there. It's very welcoming and inviting. The atmosphere is very happy. There are always games or activities going on. As soon as you walk in, there's always a group of people sitting in the front lobby talking or doing a book reading. It's just very comforting. I was surprised at the quality and the taste of the food in a positive way. They have better food than I expected, but it's not like Michelin-grade quality food. It's good food. It's better than I was expecting in any type of those facilities.

I liked the staff at Court at Round Rock. I thought they interacted well with everybody. The public areas looked clean, but they were a little older or a little bit rundown. The rooms themselves were really in top condition. They were super nice and good sized, like 500 plus square feet, which was perfect for my dad. They have assisted living, but we only were interested in independent living. The fitness facilities were not up to what my dad would have been looking for.

Court at Round Rock was more affordable, so my dad could get a one-bedroom there compared to having a studio from the other facilities. They have church services on Sunday, bible studies, and outings. There's always activities every day, and it sounded like a good fit for him. They have a beauty salon and an exercise room that probably functions as a physical therapy room too. He's getting a roomier place. It's not the biggest we saw, but pretty big, and it's got a full kitchen, which is kind of nice. He doesn't have a patio though, because that would have been preferable. The food was fine, and the staff was very nice the first time we went there, but then I had to go back, and it was a little hard to get a hold of the person I was trying to get a hold of. Even when she was there when we went in, we never got to talk to her. I was a little concerned about that, but we'll see how it goes once he moves in.

We did not care for Court at Round Rock. It seemed dated, antiseptic, kind of isolated, and there did not seem to be a community feel to it, but the staff was nice enough. Even though it wasn't dark, there was still sadness, but I liked that there were people in the foyer with their dogs. We also had to wait a long time for the staff. The facility was subpar, it was like a hospital, and not personalized.

Court at Round Rock was very nice. I was surprised how nice it was. They even had a little Baptist church on the property. The people were very polite and very nice. Even though I’m 67, it seems like people were a lot older. I’m going back this coming Tuesday to have dinner with them. The only thing I was interested in is a studio apartment because I don’t need a big house anymore. Unfortunately, they didn’t have one. They were all taken at that time.
