I had an in-person tour of Oak Park Retirement Resort. The staff members were very friendly and warm. I would be there now, except for the money. Everything was nice. The dining area looked good. The residents were moving around. There were about six people playing poker. They had a barber and beauty shop where you could get a massage. They had covered parking. My concern about it was the walk from the garage to the building. They provide the internet, but you have to bring your own phone service if you want a personal line.

Oak Park Retirement Resort looked nice and bright. The people were very friendly, and everyone I talked to was just happy to be there. The staff was wonderful. The facility had all of the amenities that one would enjoy. I had a meal and it was fine. I wasn't able to eat the main part that was served, but I had the salad bar and it had lots of choices. I was able to talk about the activities with the residents that I had lunch with and there were many things that I would like to participate in. They have Bridge, Rummikub, Uno, and lots of card games available. They have a walking club and exercise classes. They also have regular shopping days.

I toured Oak Park Retirement Resort for my husband and it's an incredible location. It was very well-run, and they had a lot of activities. Everyone was very, very happy there. It was the first place that we visited in several years where people were coming up to us and saying how much they enjoyed living there. It's all independent but they offer a list of home health care specialists that you can contact to come in if you need more assistance. Everything there was exactly like living in your home, except that you're not. The apartments were wonderful. The staff was wonderful, and the directors live on site. There's a lot of activities and a lot of transportation offerings. It's not a contract so you don't buy into it. It's a month-by-month thing and that was a real positive. It was just pretty amazing. The staff was the most congenial. They were most willing to share information, they seem very honest, and they encouraged residents to pipe in and make comments. I felt it was very transparent. They served us lunch and what I had was great. Some other women went with me who said it wasn't so great.

When we toured Oak Park Retirement Resort, I really liked the feel of the community. It was very updated, and very organized. You walk in, you feel welcome. It was just very nice and very pleasant. They were very welcoming. Not only did the facility manager come to give us a tour, but some of the other staff came up to greet us, to let us know that they were there all the time. She was very warm and welcoming; she gives you a feeling of confidence. I did not try the food, but I watched them cook and serve it. Their scratch kitchen was preparing the food. It looked good. It wasn't large quantities on the serving table at one time; they were pretty regular as needed. I liked that they had a window of opportunity to come and eat. I liked that they had room service for free. If you didn't want to come down, they would give you room service. That was very good.

I like Oak Park Retirement Resort. It is beautiful, and it is like a cruise ship without the dizziness. It is clean because it is fairly new. It is managed very well, too. When you talk to the residents there, you can see that they are happy. It is nice. If you need food, they have 24-hour service. You can eat in the restaurant or you can eat in your room.

Oak Park Retirement Resort was more like a hotel. The main reason we didn't choose them was because they didn't have nursing staff available. It was great, but it's not the place we needed for my parents. The apartments were very nice and new, they're even nicer than my parents' current room now. But there's no way to get outside from the room. The place was great but it's not what we needed. The food looked really good there, and the cafeteria was great. It's a clean place, it's nice and the people we talked to were nice. I didn't like that they didn't have a nurse on staff and no courtyard.

Oak Park is phenomenal!. I’m speaking as one who has a loved one in the facility, and I have researched until I was blue in the face to find somewhere that was a mix of the things she needed, and what she could afford. Katy area senior living is very very expensive. Hands down, this place has the most bang for the buck in the Katy area, and if you are considering a home for yourself or for a senior in your life, PLEASE go see for yourself how nice it is. Although they do not provide nursing assistance, the residents are able to bring in their own helpers, or can use the company that the apartments work with. A lot of the residents use helpers to provide safety with bathing, ext. First off, the staff is also exceptional, all of them. They are all extremely caring, talkative, and accommodating to all the residents and their guests alike. I’m there a lot, as my mom is in a wheelchair, and I take care of all her needs. She has lived there 8 months now, and I have never had a interaction than was anything less than top notch. Second, it’s all bills paid, and all meals are included, and prepared by an actual chef! They are REALLY good, and they encourage other family members to come eat with the residents (it’s only $8, less than the cost of a fast food lunch!) There is also weekly housekeeping and bed linen changes, transportation to doctor appointments twice a week, and ACTIVITIES every day. The activity director is full of energy, and she works her tail off to keep things interesting. My mother has made so many new friends, and again, the residents that live there embrace newcomers with open arms. Everyone is genuinely friendly, not “fake friendly”, as I have seen at other places. The bottom line is this, once you have most of your daily needs taken care of, and you are in a stimulating environment with people that you come to call family, life is happy! There is so much more that I am not mentioning, you really have to see for yourself, take a tour, and find out the abundance of “extras” for yourself.

Oak Park Retirement Resort was still seemingly too new and the people living there didn't know what was going on. There were not very many people there, and there was not much interaction.

I cannot emphasize enough how terrific the staff, sales people, associated vendors and even residents are here. Price, facility, environment, and service at this place completely beyond my expectations. I don't have a lot of experience with these kind of places, but all the same I have been very impressed, and completely comfortable with my Mother moving there. It's not always easy moving a loved one out of your home into a "facility", but this has been a great experience for us both.

Oak Park Resort Lifestyle Retirement Community was a brand-new place, so everything was really great. They had a lot of activities and a nice restaurant. The place was land-locked around houses in subdivisions. The patios overlooked a parking lot, and the other patio faced a mall. They didn’t have long-term care, which I didn’t like. They had movies and other activities, and provided three meals a day.
