I would recommend Fountainwood at Lake Houston. It's awesome. We liked everything about it. It's brand new. The big thing I liked about it is the rooms were nice sized. I also liked the fact that your meals do not have to be scheduled. They give you at least an hour to come and order your food. You order it just like it's at a restaurant. You don't have to come in and eat what everybody's eating at the same time. You eat when you want to as long as it's within that time the kitchen's open. I think that's a real plus. The food was awesome. They have a great chef there.
We looked at the independent living part. They also have assisted living and memory care if needed. It's a complete facility and they have a gorgeous swimming pool and workout facilities. It's like a resort. The one who gave us the tour was super informative and nice. I have a friend that already lives there and we had lunch with him and they had another lady from the facility eat with us, too. He's been there since it opened and I believe the lady had, too.
They're all expensive, but for what you're getting there, I felt like it's probably a better value than some others, with all that's included there. In independent living, you got a washer, a dryer, a nice stainless steel refrigerator, a microwave, and a range. It's great. I didn't see anything they were lacking. If I was going to pick one, I would love to live there if we were ready to leave our place.

The Fountainwood at Lake Houston looked like a nice hotel. It was fully furnished. The staff was very friendly and outgoing. They followed up a few times and sent me more information. They offer meal options as an addition. The amenities seemed all right. They have a lot of stuff.

I live in Fountainwood at Lake Houston, and I think it couldn't be any better. The food is good, the room is beautiful, and I love the place. They're very friendly and very helpful. There are games like bingo, meditation, exercise classes, and just all kinds of stuff. I like the people and the atmosphere. It's light, bright, and just so very different from where I used to before.
