Lone Star Living was nice. It's a home away from home. I enjoyed myself there. Everybody was friendly. The rooms they showed me looked nice. I'm looking forward to being there. You got your living room, your kitchen, and your bedroom. It's very nice for one person like me. That's what I'm looking for. The staff was fantastic. They were great and very helpful. I had lunch there and I enjoyed it. The service was great and the food was excellent. The dining area was large and nice. Everybody seemed to be happy there, getting around, doing everything, and enjoying themselves. The facility was in excellent condition. We saw the laundry room. It was all nice, clean, and kept up real nice.

My friend is in Lone Star Living. It's a very good place, very nice, very friendly, and very good service. She liked it. She's on her own, but she has the meals, housekeeping, and transportation. There's a salon on the premises. They're all very caring, very willing, and they got her some things that she needed to finish her apartment, not furniture-wise, but other stuff that she's needed to be able to get around. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They're excellent. I was very pleased with the staff.
Everything was very clean and neat. The surroundings were very pleasant. There are ponds, flowers, and plants. Their dining room was also very pristine. Everything looked very, very nice. They had a painting class, card games, they had a small place there where they can do some light exercises with some machines, and bingo nights. Those were the things that I saw advertised there on the little board that they have.

I recently have spoken to a relative of mine who lives here and they told me that the facility recently hired a new professional chef to oversee the kitchen. She said that he is so kind and polite to them all and I was told that she has has seen a dramatic improvement in food quality and hospitality since the change. The staff is always so welcoming and im glad to hear that they are making the necessary changes to make things better. Thank you all at Lonestar for making the necessary changes for the better!

Noted a decrease in housekeeping services. My mother made frequent complaints about lack of consistent housekeeping services to me. I in turn complained to management and front desk staff multiple times over several weeks before the issue was resolved in regards to receiving the full weekly housekeeping services, i.e. changing the sheets when requested and emptying the trash. Both are listed as part of the housekeeper's duties in information sheets distributed. However, there are good activities offered on a regular basis and the one bedroom apartments are very nice.

Lone Star Living (formerly Westbrae Court) was right outside our subdivision, and my mom could drive without having to go on any big streets to get to our houses. However, the girl who would greet you was always on the phone and never could talk to you. You always had to sit there and wait and they'd tell you not to be there between 10:00 and 2:00, but when we got there at 3:00, they were gone. The one girl was kind of rude, but I liked the manager. The rooms had just a tiny kitchen with a tiny refrigerator and a tiny stove; I didn't like that. Mom wasn't going to be happy with that either. The cost included food and she would've liked one that didn't include the food.

My parents don't like Lone Star at all, and they're not happy. The facilities are clean, and people are friendly. It could use some updating. The managers are pretty friendly, and they have a lot of activities, like exercises, religious meetings, and book groups. The food is good. They have an outside area with a koi pond that's kind of a communal area.

Lone Star Living needs to do some significant improvements. It's old and they need to do some freshening up. The flooring needs to be improved, but they do have a new elevator. They need to improve the outside seating and the food could also use some improvement. The staff turnover is too high. Mom has been there for almost two years and during that time they've had about five different managers. The current manager seems to be knowledgeable. My mom goes to an exercise class and they go on outings sometimes. They offer some pretty good activities, but they need to improve on some processes. For example, they took my mom to a pharmacy once and just left her there. No one could tell me how long she'd been gone and there was no logbook, so I ended up having to go and pick my mother up myself.

Lone Star was a nice one that was closer to the area where I want to live. They were still working on updating and everything. The lady I talked to and her husband had moved there and taken it over. They had really done a lot as far as putting things together and everything. We had a nice talk. I looked at different, nice apartments. She showed me two or three of them that I liked. It is probably my second choice. The amenities were very nice. In the dining area, she asked me if I wanted to eat but I wasn’t hungry at that time. It was a very nice place, and I liked the people. She was so sweet and understanding.

Westbrae Court didn't seem as well kept as some of the other places that I have visited. It didn't seem as nice, i.e., the grounds, the housing. Everyone was eating at the time and it was more like a nursing home than a residence. It didn't seem fresh and clean as the other ones. I didn't like the atmosphere. Some of the rooms had broken blinds and not freshly painted. The grounds were not manicured. The dining room just seemed so depressing, the way some people were coming and their appearance. When I went, no one was there to assist me. They had a lady at the desk who said that I would have to come back at another time to talk to someone because no one was available.

I met today with Amanda D. the Marketing Director at Westbrae Court. I was so impressed with Amanda's caring spirit and her enthusiasm about this property and its residents. I truly appreciated her empathy for potential residents and for the time she spent with me.

The one we choose is called Westbrae Court. We find the tour very good. From the moment we get on the property, everyone is warm, friendly, and welcoming, both the staff and the residents. They keep on saying, "Welcome home" or, "Welcome to your new home." That makes it feel really homey and warm. They do what they can as far as having everything settled and straight for him to move in within a certain amount of time. They are still very active and making sure that he is making the most out of the experience. He has been there for about two or three weeks now. They call me about what is going on and what is not going on. They have a bunch of trips. They have casino nights, bingo nights, and they do a bunch of things. They have services, if they need.

Westbrae Court is very nice. The service is really good. The maintenance crew is good. They come weekly to clean the apartment. The meal service is great. We have no complaints about the food. We have three meals a day. Everything is going fine. We are very pleased with it.

My dad is at Westbrae Court. It was affordable, and he liked it a lot. He says he eats really well, and he loves the food. I guess they are good. He has had no problems so far, and he has been there a couple of months.

Westbrae Court was much closer; it's like a mile from home. It doesn't have memory care, and it is really just assisted living, but it was significantly cheaper. And they weren't nice, but it was close, it was cheap, and I'd give it a three out of five. It's close.

My husband has only been at Westbrae Court a week. They were recommended by one of his home health care aides, and it's down the street from my house. The staff is wonderful and very nice. The rooms are beautiful. We have the whole apartment for him. He likes to watch TV. He has Alzheimer's, but he's happy. He loves the food; he eats every meal.

I also went to Westbrea Court. It’s very close to my home. It’s an older place with about five or six buildings. One of the issues to me is going outdoors to get to where I need to go. All of the buildings did have elevators, which was helpful. They have a very small gym where if you needed to have physical therapy, you could have someone come in and work out in their gym. They do serve three meals a day. Most of them were not full kitchens -- they were kitchenettes. I still like to cook. I was looking at that for me. They did not have pools or pretty landscaping where you could grill outside and stuff like that. It’s really connected to a subdivision. Again, they could do some updating in the apartments themselves; it was a much older place. I know they have new management come in, so I have not been back. And they may have done that since I was there because it’s been a while. They still sent me paperwork when they’re having activities or things. I did know some people personally that were there.

My mom is in Westbrae Court. I like the price. The amenities that they have there are very nice. The home care that they provide in addition to what I pay for the residence is very good. They have beautiful landscaping. The apartments are well kept. They have a beautiful hot tub. The dining room is very nice and the food is very good. They have an on sight beauty shop. They have transportation and housekeeping. My mom is comfortable in there.

Westbrae Court, for me, is the best value for your money because it is the most affordable place that I was able to find then and today. I feel that it has a high-quality facility. It was good because they offer an independent experience at affordable price. They have a local transportation there and they do activities. Overall, I remember it being a positive experience. I like best the independence feel to it and the affordable price.

Westbrae Court was listed as independent but it was more of an assisted living for me. The place seemed dark and would not make you happy when you came in because everybody was just sitting around, doing nothing.
