My husband moved into Truewood by Merrill, River Park. So far, I'm very happy with the community that I chose. If there is something that is probably less of a negative, it is that the entrance gates are always open, which I find interesting. I have not had an opportunity to address that yet. It is a very nice and very friendly community. So far, so good. The biggest reason why we chose it was the price and convenience.

Truewood by Merrill, River Park was not as expensive as the other ones we visited. The lady who gave the tour was very, very friendly. She gave us a glimpse of the place and she stayed in touch with me during this whole process, and I really appreciate her following up and asking if we had any questions, to be sure to ask.
Truewood just bought it, so there was still some maintenance stuff that they said they were going to do. The rooms were very, very nice. However, they didn't have the meal capabilities in the independent living, and you have to walk across a parking lot if Mom needed to go to the office or needed anything from the management staff. She's 90 years old and she uses a walker. She would also have to go outside for laundry as they didn't have laundry capabilities in the room. The apartment that she would have to go to was on the second floor, which she didn't like, but that's just a personal choice preference. There were a lot of activities, and those were probably the main thing that stood out.

I will be moving to Truewood by Merrill, River Park. I like the kindness and the way took their time to show me the facility and showed patience with me. They just took their time and they didn't rush me. I've visited a couple of times before I made up my mind, but they've shown overall care in showing me the place. They have two meals a day. I had breakfast there, and it was up to my standards. They have bingo, and happy hour, they take you to the grocery stores, and there are daily activities every day. The building was really impressive. I would say for others to check it out, I think they would like it.
