Sage Hill Maybelle Carter was a nice facility. However, it's not what my dad needs at this time. I was met by a woman who was in charge of the intake of new residents and she was very engaging and talked to me about all aspects of the facility. She immediately made herself available to give me a full tour. She has a lot of pride in the facility, and I could see that coming through in the way that she described it and also in the freedom with which she led me through the facility. There was nothing that she didn't want me to see.
Their residents there seemed full of life, happy, social, and friendly. I found the quality of life there seemed to be very good. Being that I did not set up an appointment, I just showed up without any announcement, I can be assured that my experience was authentic because there was no preparation in advance from the facility.
The rooms were adequate. They do the appropriate renovations in between residents to make sure that it's clean and presentable. I saw a couple of rooms occupied by residents who have lived there for some time, and they had a good feeling inside. The people seemed happy. I wasn't sure if there was going to be a positive environment, but it does seem that way overall.
The dining area itself was large and open and has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over a somewhat wooded area, which I thought was very pleasant. I did not try the food. However, I looked at a sample menu and it looked fairly well-rounded. The people who live in independent living have their own kitchens, so they're able to cook their own food as well.
They acknowledged that some of the facilities are a bit outdated and that they are about to undergo a large renovation. The staff during the tour was happy to be representing this facility. She seems to have personal relationships with a lot of the residents and staff in a way that felt authentic to me. I don't see why the residents would put on a show for me, so it felt very authentic.

We went here and it was really nice. My mother really liked the apartment. The staff was super nice. It was just a really close call. However, the location was a factor with that. It was just too far from us, and they didn't have the transportation available yet. My mother got to see the apartment and she loved it. We didn't really see anything else. The staff snuck my mother in to see the apartment, but we didn't go in. My mother said the apartment was nice. Outside was very nice, too.

Everybody was nice. The lady who took me on a tour was very nice, too. She showed me all the rooms. The rooms were old, but they were OK. The living atmosphere was great. The dining area was nice, and the food looked good. They have a library, and they had a cookout area where you can have family over, which is nice.

We're satisfied and they've lived up to our expectations. My mother's room is kept very clean. Their staff is very thorough and consistent with what they do. Their food menu has a variety and looks good. They have a lot of different activities, more than she can participate in. They have a hair and nail salon, exercise room and classes, an outdoor pavilion where they have cookouts, and other outdoor activities. They've been very helpful and very courteous.

Maybelle Carter was nice and clean. It felt like you were cared for and like they were looking after folks. Everybody seemed really friendly. The rooms were nice, and the food was good. They had exercises and art classes, played cards, had a movie day and bible study with local churches, and had a library. They also had a garden, grounds with a walking path, and a travel club once a month where they looked at different locations, which was kind of fun. They seemed to really be a community. They provided a service where they would take them to a doctor within a certain time frame, which was nice. They would take them to the grocery store once a week, which was fantastic, and serve three meals a day. They took them shopping twice a week in two different locations and did other kinds of outings.
