The residents at Oak Hill Village were extremely friendly. We only had a one hour appointment, but we were there for two and a half hours. Rob showed us two different apartments. One was an efficiency and the other one was a one-bedroom. He answered all our questions, which we had many, and he was just very caring, very pleasant, told us all sorts of information, and waited while we took notes. He was a very good man. So, it was just a wonderful tour of the place, and everybody seemed really nice. They have transportation to the grocery store or for breakfast sometimes, and different things. The campus is well-kept. Everything is very clean and we were just very happy with all of it. Their meals were reasonable, whether you go to the dining room or have it delivered to your room. Their biggest meal of the day is $4.00, and breakfast is $2.32. So, it's like you can eat all day for $11.00. They seemed to have a lot of activities. They play bingo in their community room, they have what they call the chapel, which is a huge room where they had a Christmas tree up, and band/entertainment in the gazebo.

Oak Hill Village felt like an old age home. The room was nice, but the amount of money that they wanted down was completely ridiculous to us (putting $95,000 down plus $1600 a month for a one-bedroom), when I've got a house at $1400 per month and that's five bedrooms. I have nothing against the people there, but as you drove up, there was a line of wheelchairs sitting outside. Even though my wife is currently in a wheelchair, I didn't like the way it came across to you. Everything was there, but there was something about it that didn't feel right. They told us, "We can bring it down from $21,000 to $16,000," but you have to put $95,000 down and after four years, you don't get any of it back. That was kind of a shocker. Their cleanliness and appearance would've been a 5. It was just the general feeling as you drove up to it. Also, we're going from a five-bedroom, three-story house to a one-bedroom apartment and it's gonna cost me more than what I've got now. The staff was excellent and for what they had available, they did very well. We need to downsize, but that was downsizing to an absolute minimum and still costing us more than what we have.

Oak Hill Village was a clean facility. The room they showed me that's available right now was very nice. Some of the services were good. The people were very welcoming and the location was also nice. In general, I just had a really good feeling about the place. Liane was the one that gave me the tour along with an assistant, and she was very good at communicating the information and even provided a packet to me right away. They had an activity room at the front of the building and I was able to peek in there where they had music going on. I liked the fact that the building had a lot of glass so you could see the outdoor environment.

Oak Hill Village was nice and clean. We only saw a more expensive apartment (at the time, we weren't sure if there was a cheaper one available), and it was roomy. The people were very friendly, very helpful, and answered any questions we needed. We walked by a salon, which thrilled my mother. They showed us the activity room and explained they had people that would come in from time to time, like musicians, to entertain the residents.

I chose Oak Hill Village because the price is lower than others that I've looked at. I like the apartment very much and I like the activities. Like every other place, because of COVID restrictions, they had to cancel activities sometimes and things like that. But it wasn't their fault it's something they had to do. There's nothing the staff won't do for you, they're kind and helpful. I prepare my own meals. There's a dining room where you can order meals or you can go there to eat. I was there once and it was excellent. We have a schedule that's printed out for the month of activities that are going to occur. Yesterday we played bingo, they have people come in and perform, and they also had two men who sing country Western music, so they make an attempt every day. I live in independent living called The Tower, and the people who need health care are in 1 storey building surrounding this tower. My apartment is 1040 square feet, that's a pretty good-sized apartment. I checked out a lot of different places before moving here, they were three times as much per month as this place. So I would say the value is very good.

Oak Hill Village is nice, I like the kitchen and I like the terrace. They have an exercise room, but it's not fully done yet. The staff was nice and they have both independent and assisted living. The laundry room had only one washer and dryer for 10 people, each floor had one. They have a gym which is ok and they have a dining room, it's nice. The location was ok, but it just wasn't for me.
