I am at Cherrywood Village and I am very happy here. They keep the place spotless. The facilities are kept up very nicely. They're adding elevators right now so that we have two elevators in each one of our high-rise buildings. We practice the Fish Philosophy, which is taking care of each other. So, the staff takes care of us and we take care of them. I have a one-bedroom and it has plenty of room. Even the studio apartments are adequate.
We get three meals a day and they are very good. We have a rotation every five weeks. So, the menus that we have are different for the five-week period. We're back to having excursions now every Wednesday. That includes going to the theater, to the grocery shopping two days a week, or to medical appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with free transportation). We have a concierge, a theater, a beauty shop, and nail care. There's something going on all the time. There's bingo nights, all kinds of card playing all the time, and a book club.

My mother has been at Cherrywood Village. It seems to increase their longevity for the people that are there because they give them a reason to live. Everything was going really great, of course, until COVID hit, and then that was a whole another kettle of fish. However, they've done a great job of keeping the disease at bay. They've had a few cases at the assisted living, but that's about it, and they have like 400 units. They've done a good job. They keep the family and the residents all updated on what's going on. There's good communication.
The facility is unbelievable. They have their own theater, their own ice cream parlor, and their own church. They have a huge dinner hall where they serve restaurant-style food, and they have a chef. They have an exercise room, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and everything's indoor. The other thing that makes it nice is that all the wings are connected by skybridges, so even on the furthest out wing they can go all the way to the dining room without going outside. All the floors and all the wings have orchards and green ridge. The only ones that don't are the on the outskirts, and they have houses that are like duplexes that they can live in. They're not very far away, but they don't have the skybridges and everything that's covered/where everything's connected.
Mom's doing an art class, and she does Wii bowling. They have so many things. She's got a studio apartment and she has a full kitchen, so she cooks herself. She goes down when she wants and they have a menu that they pass out every day, every week, so that they can tell what they like. If it's something they don't like, then she fixes herself something. The dining room section is open to the outside public until COVID. Her studio apartment has no bedroom, but she has a kitchen and a nice big bathroom with access, so she can get in and out. When we did the search compared to others, Cherrywood Village was very reasonable.

I like Cherrywood Village. I don't have anything bad to say. I like the things they have available for the residents to do. You would not have to use public transportation or continue to drive there. The little cottages were adorable, but they're a little bit more expensive than I was thinking. The gal who gave us the tour was very nice. The apartments were nice, but my kids and grandkids would be more comfortable visiting me in a cottage setting than wandering through an apartment building. I liked the covered bridges between the buildings.

Cherrywood Village Retirement Community met all of my mom's needs. She loved it as soon as she walked in. It has plenty of things to do, lots of places to be, and the people are very open, welcoming, and friendly. It is a lovely place, but not pretentious. They have a pool, a gym, an art studio, a theater, a chapel, a coffee shop, a hair salon, massage therapists, and they have outings. This place has been really wonderful.

I visited CherryWood Village. The room was very nice and a good size. It could be a nice place to live. The waiter who served us lunch was very good. They were very helpful and pleasant. The food and the service were good.

CherryWood was very beautiful but big and more expensive. My husband doesn't need that large of a place; however, it was very comfortable and nice. They seemed to have good personnel because we talked to a couple of people who were helpful and pleasant.

My wife moved in at Cherrywood Village a week ago, and she seems to be well treated. It’s the most physically appealing place than some of the others that we saw. The food is good, healthy, and well-prepared. The staff is good generally.

CherryWood was nice. The rooms were very spacious, and the bathrooms were very nice. We were very happy to see it. They had a pool. There was a theater and an exercise room. The dining area was nice. The food was OK. It was a medium size facility. The residents looked happy.

I really liked CherryWood Village Retirement Community. It had a lot of things that I thought would really work for Mom. It was very high on her list. Location was good, familiar, and absolutely beautiful. I think a lot of things are new or possibly remodeled. Everything is just new, really pretty, and planned out really well. They had beautiful furniture. Everything looked really comfortable and stylish and at the same time, accessible to older people. The colors were good for Mom, too, so she can see things.

I liked CherryWood Village Retirement Community because it was lightly colored and airy. Some places felt heavy because of the dark colors but also looked clean and fresh. I especially liked their underground parking and pool. The food was very good, and the waitress was so sweet, helpful, and outstanding. The servings were so large, we wound up taking half of our food home. Everybody was very nice and very friendly.

I visited CherryWood Village. The place is pretty good and it's a newer facility. Their place is just undersize. They have a lot of rooms, but their dining area is too little e. The staff is nice. Their outdoor area is pretty decent. They have good activities. They have a church inside their community. Their fee is reasonable as well.

At CherryWood Village, we really never saw a marketing person or anything; we just decided to go through on our own. They seemed very friendly. The apartments were nice, and I only know this because there was somebody there that we recognized who offered to show us her apartment, but they looked very pleasant and they had a lot of amenities. The people were very interested in talking to other people. The food was good also. The one studio apartment that we saw was very nice and well-appointed.

CherryWood was very comparable to the other place I visited. Their administration was terrible, though. They didn't have continuity and couldn't even remember that I had set up an appointment. The community was wonderful, but the people running it were horrible.

I liked the fact that they brought in entertainment at Cherrywood Village. They had two wonderful country-Western singers, a husband and wife in their early 50s, visit, and, in the past, it was people like Johnny Cash, Rita McIntyre, and so forth, singing in the dining area of the assisted living. What was nice about that was everybody was welcome whether you're an independent living person or a guest like me; whoever wanted to go can sit and watch them. I'm part of a theater group here in Queens that entertains older adults. I like doing little comedy skits; we've performed a couple of them and liked seeing the interactions, and I saw that same interaction there with the music. These people were singing songs and the older adults that were watching were into it, and it was wonderful to see that interaction. I thought the attitude of the staff was very nice and very caring, which is very important. For example, the young ladies who were helping to set up the show were very nice. I thought the staff was on par in the dining facility; those who served the people were very nice. So, my experience was very positive. They had a gym and a pool, and I did see some people in the pool. They had a community room where they can hold different activities, a library, beautiful grounds outside for walks, and a bus. it was on a long block but very nice. In the evening, they had a recital of chamber music in the chapel, and it was beautiful. I went to that; it was a lovely experience. The apartments were nice, and the food was average. On the whole, it was good. The food was OK, but I didn't think they had the healthiest of choices. They could have had a little more selection and healthy food options.

CherryWood is a nice place. They have a beautiful swimming pool and that’s what I would go for. I haven’t eaten there, but I have an idea that it's pretty good and I know their standards are very high because I worked in their sister facility. They are very attentive to safety issues and cleanliness. They are constantly monitoring staff and personnel. They are very attentive to those details. I would trust somebody living there and would recommend the place.

CherryWood Village is very close to Adventist Medical Center which is a big plus. It is very close to my church also. The wellness center is very good and there is a large pool along with that. The activities there are very good.

This community is incredible. There is a real sense of family and caring among the residents and employees, the property is beautiful, the restaurant's food is excellent with a full menu, the coffee shop is great - they actually serve Stump Town coffee! - and the amenities are numerous and outstanding - especially the Wellness Center and it's great crew and the Activity team with their steady stream of excursions, clubs, classes, and events. I was first introduced to CherryWood Village back in 2001 and have been a fan ever since.
