The Springs at Lancaster Village was very nicely done. The room was very roomy. It had a nice kitchenette with very good storage. They showed us some exercise classes and a schedule of other activities. The staff was excellent. It had a very warm and friendly atmosphere.

I toured The Springs at Lancaster Village and one of the main things, especially reinforced by the fact that I screwed up my knee, is that it's flat. It doesn't have a view, but it's walkable and has flat sidewalks. I'm on a waiting list currently, so we'll have to see how it turns out.
The staff was very nice and friendly. They have an exercise class three days a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It's centrally located here in Salem, so that was important to me. I'm currently living way out south, and it's just not working out as well as I hoped it would.
A one-meal plan is what I would like. I still have to decide what the one meal will be, but I'll go over to the dining room for one meal and do the other two on my own.
They have housekeeping once a week and I'm not sure how thorough it is, but I have a caregiver, housekeeper, dog walker, and a woman of all talents especially 'til my knee heals up. So, I'm not too worried about what kind of help they have. I've heard it's just like everywhere. You have to go in with a smart head and open eyes because it's never the storybook you think it's going to be. But the people are friendly, and I'll have to see how it goes. Covid changes things. They've gone through shut down, open up, then shut down and open up in the common rooms.
The cottages are nice, but people are living in them, so you don't get to see very much right away.

I visited Lancaster Village. I was very impressed by the food, and the staff was topnotch. They were just a little bit more than I wanted to pay, so I didn't choose that. It's a little more upscale than the other two I visited. The facility was a little older. I thought the food was a little better, but it's more expensive. It seemed very well maintained.

I liked Lancaster Village. The cottages were nice, well kept, and it was in a quiet area, but they did not have garages. The staff was very informative, very pleasant, personable, and upbeat. The owner lives on the premises, they have some exercise equipment, and they have a library.
