I really liked Legacy Village in Xenia. It's a little expensive, but I liked it. The staff was very good. They explained everything really well and took us all over the place and let us see it. They knew what they were talking about, and answered all our questions. We looked at a 2-bedroom apartment in independent living. They were really nice. They were a lot smaller than what we're used to living in because we're in our own house right now, but we're eventually going to downsize to something like that.

Legacy Assisted Living has the single cottages that I was looking for. I'm not interested with the apartment building type of thing. Marjorie took me on the tour and she was a wonderful person. She answered every question that I had and she tried to give me all the information that she thought would be of help to me to make a decision. I was very pleased and very satisfied with the tour. She showed me two units, both were single units, no up and down stairs or anything of that nature, and one had a single car garage, while the other one had a double car garage. They were very nice and very clean that I wouldn't mind living there at all. I have two dogs, and where I live now, it has a huge backyard that fits in, so my dogs have plenty of room to run around. Living in a senior community, that would kind of constrain my dogs somewhat. I asked Marjorie about putting a small backyard fence in the unit she showed me and she said, "That wouldn't be acceptable, but I could put up an electronic fence. That would probably work." Overall, I'm very pleased with it. The dining facility was placed in the assisted living area, not in the cottage area, so I wasn't able to see it. I only saw the community area where people play games or do their activities. The activities they have during the course of the month are posted on their bulletin board. Some people play checkers, dominoes, and some people just get friendly with each other. I think they also post the menus for the restaurant there. Legacy is not brand new. It's an older facility but it's alright. They renovated it and cleaned up, the whole nine yards, after a resident moves out, so I got no problems with its cleanliness.
