I'm going to move to The Village at Westerville Retirement Center. The tour was very, very nice and very well done. They gave us all the information. We came back a couple of times, met with them and had lunch. It was all very good. The food was great. It was good home cooking. They have a dining room and they have servers, so they come and serve you at your table. The staff members we met were friendly, congenial, knowledgeable about what they were doing, very gracious, and kind, and they were working with all the residents. I could see that they just cared about the people that they were working with. The room I'm getting is very spacious. It's a two-bedroom with a shared living space and separate bathrooms. It's very comfortable and spacious. I'll have room for all my stuff. When we were there, the residents were all excited because it was gonna be Black Jack Night. They have bingo, cards, all those kind of entertainment, senior exercises, chair exercises, and yoga exercises. My expectation is high especially compared to the other ones that we looked at. I think this is one that will meet my needs much better. The facility was clean and tidy. They are completely redoing my room before I move in. They're painting and putting in new carpeting, so it'll be like a clean suite, and everything looked in good repair.

I went to look at The Village at Westerville Retirement Center. It is very friendly and very homey. It was just a pleasant place to be. The staff was wonderful. I see that their calendar is full of activities every day. Our dinners will be prepared. They have a beauty salon, library, and craft room. As far as I know, there are activities such as playing cards, bingo, and just about anything you could think of. They have physical therapy and a workout room. They have a raised garden that you could plant your own garden if you choose. There's a quarter-mile walking path around. My husband stayed there last year alone for assisted living, and he loved the dining hall. He was very excited and glad to go back because he enjoyed the presentation, the waiter, the food, and the desserts. He loved it all. He was there three months, and then we toured it again in another area. We were looking at apartments, not a studio.

My parents moved in about 2 years ago and just in time for the covid lockdowns. Ed and staff couldn't have been more careful and concerned for my parents than if I were taking care of them. Housekeeping does a great job, food is good, but presentation could be better. There are plenty of activities, to the point my mom would tell me she's so busy she is worn out. :) My parents use one of the doctors that visits the center and we couldn't be more pleased with the NP (Jamie) who looks in on them. Physical Therapy also does a good job. Yes, its not as pretty as some independent/assisted living centers, but i will trade that anytime for the care they receive. The center doesn't just talk about family, they live it. When I was first looking at a place for my parents, this was the only one where staff passing me in the halls would actually smile and say hello. And that was maintenance, housekeeping, kitchen and nursing. I highly recommend the Village.

Our family is a great fan of this facility, where both of my parents lived for about 5 years. Top-notch care, friendly people, good food - just a very supportive and healthy environment. My parents were very happy here, and, so were we, knowing they were in great hands.

The physical appearance of The Village at Westerville was very nice and comfortable-looking. I believe this facility has been there for many years because it is here in town and I've driven by it many times. It seemed in the fine state of repair and I saw nothing that looked dated at all. Also its location is very convenient for me. I think it was just before lunch when I visited this place. There were people downstairs getting ready for lunch. I had lunch there too and I liked it. The residents seemed happy and active.

My children and I visit this facility every year for their annual Trick or Treat party. My family lived in Westerville for several years and at one point my grandmother was staying there. It was a short stay because she was healing from surgery. She never fully recovered because she was very ill to begin with. The facility is staffed with some of the most caring individuals I have every met. When my children and I went for the Trick or Treat party, the staff was very involved and made sure it was enjoyable for all the residents living there. As for the residents, they all seem very happy and very content with their living arrangements. They enjoy having any and all visitors and the The Village at Westerville makes sure to have the community welcomed all the time. They also do other community events such as Bingo on Memorial Day and Independence day. They do summer concert series outside all summer long, and allow organizations such as girl scout troops and choirs come and do activities with the residents. They try to make sure that the residents are taken care of. If I had to have a family member stay anywhere, I would make sure it was at the Village at Westerville.
