I toured The Wellington at Dayton. The staff was very friendly, professional, courteous, very nice, and willing to answer questions. I saw very nicely decorated clean common areas. I saw a multipurpose room and I saw another room that was geared more toward crafting, playing cards, or some cooking activity.

We liked our tour of The Wellington at Dayton's independent living. I met with Carrie, she was the sales director, she's very pleasant and nice. She answered all my questions, we went on the tour and I talked to other residents. She showed me two different floor plans for independent living and they were beautiful, they have a full-size washer and dryer, and a full-size kitchen. She ended up taking me down to the cafeteria, and everybody that was in there looked happy. I asked her if the food was good and she said yes, and that she would allow my parents to have lunch or dinner, depending on when they toured. It was clean and it smelled nice. There were security updates, which I like. I wish I could live there, it's well-maintained and beautiful.

I started my search about a year ago with a tour of The Wellington at Dayton's independent living. There wasn't anything that I didn't like about it. That was my first experience visiting a senior community so I also didn't know what to expect.
The people seemed to be very, very friendly. The manager, who assisted me, was very knowledgeable, very helpful, and able to answer my questions. The facility, overall, was neat and well maintained.
I didn't get to talk to any residents but there were a lot of activities. They had a schedule of activities that they put out for all their residents so there's something to do every day, all day. There are a lot of opportunities to stay busy and make new friends if you want.
In terms of location, it's close to where I live now. It's also close to grocery stores and hospitals.

I'm living at The Wellington at Dayton right now. It's been good. The staff is much better. It has some turnover, but it's pretty good right now. It has a nice, clean appearance. They keep it maintained pretty well. Our room is pretty good. We have a two-bedroom apartment, and it's good-sized and comfortable, and they take good care of it. They have all kinds of activities for the people like bingo, movies, athletics to try to get us to move around, and a lot of things like that.

The Wellington at Dayton is the place that I like the best, so far money-wise and they're very nice. If I have to choose from all of them according to having to have the money to pay, I'm going to go to this place. Their atmosphere was nice and their personnel was very nice. The amount that they charge and what you get for your money was very good. Their rooms have a stove, refrigerator, they have a washer and dryer and they have nice closets for you. When they say they have a walk-in closet and they show you that it's a walk-in closet, they are not misleading you. The person who gave me the tour was very thorough, very knowledgeable, and very helpful. They offered me to try the food but we didn't have time to do it. The cleanliness of the facility was good.

We liked The Wellington at Dayton because it felt like a happy community. They also do independent, all the way to memory care. So, they would be able to stay in the facility, but we just really liked the staff, and the people just seemed very happy.
We were looking for a two-bedroom, and that's one of the few places that has one. It was very nice and seemed like they had enough activities that my parents would be interested in. For example, Dad likes to do puzzles, and Mom likes to do crafts, and it looked like they had all of those kinds of things.
The dining area looked very nice too. We didn't try any of the food, but it just seemed a little more welcoming, and they were kind of running it like a restaurant where they could place their order and stuff.

My mother-in-law will be moving into The Wellington at Dayton. First of all, she lives in an apartment complex that is right next door to this facility, she is familiar with the area, so we know that it will be an easier transition for her to go there. We went in and the facility is very nice, and very clean. The people were extremely friendly. We went around dinnertime, and all the residents had gone into the dining room. They seemed very happy, were carrying on conversations, and walking out together. They have a lot of services for her like crafts and different things that she can do. They have transportation to get her to and from her doctors' appointments. They have a hair salon right there on premises that is very affordable that she'll be able to use. The apartment is the same size as where she is living in right now, so all her furniture will fit there. The smallest apartment fits her price point, and they also have an assisted living right next door if she progresses and needs to be moved at some point. We saw their menu, and we saw the food basically being served to the residents there. The dining area is beautiful, and the kitchen is very nice. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the food. The one who assisted us was very knowledgeable, very friendly, and she interacted with the residents. They all seem to know her, and were glad to see her when we walked through the halls. She showed us two different apartments, she took extra time with us, and we appreciated that. One apartment that we saw, which would be the size that she would want, was being refurbished at that point. Someone had just moved out, so it hadn't been painted yet, so it wasn't perfect, but it had new carpet down.

We went to The Wellington at Dayton. It was nice, and it looked like the residents were taken care of. The staff was very hospitable. The rooms looked very clean and spacious with nice appliances and plenty of space for one person. It looked like it would be a lot of fun and would have kept anyone engaged and active. All the activities that are going on are in the calendar that showed what was planned for the month. It was well explained. She showed us all the activity rooms, where they took place, all the options, especially like dining, and she took us on the whole tour. It's your choice, it sounded like you could take part or not. They looked like they were being safe, people were wearing masks, and it was very clean and sanitary. She even talked about different kinds of activities that happened at different times of the year, like seasonal, outdoor stuff during the spring, summer, and early fall, and indoor stuff for the winter. They even have outings and trips. There was a shuttle service if you're shopping not far from there, and if you wanted to go to the grocery store or Walmart, there were places nearby. It looked very congenial, friendly, and safe. I think we ran into a lady who lived there, and she has lived there for many years. But, it was just too expensive.

I toured The Wellington at Dayton for my mom, and it was good. There were not as many options as the other facility we toured and not as many activities as well. The place was a lot smaller, too, as well as the rooms, and it was more expensive. It sounded like they provide some meals if you sign up for independent living, so that is nice. You get two out of your three meals for free there. It was definitely nice there, but it was not quite as big as the other facility I saw. They had an area where you can do games and puzzles, but they did not have much else.

My sister is at The Wellington at Dayton Advanced Living, which is one step up from assisted living because she doesn't need that much assistance yet. The place is lovely, and everyone is so friendly. She is very happy there. They have so much to offer and I'm just very pleased with it. She has an apartment with a living room, kitchen, a bedroom, and one room that she can use as a second bedroom or a dining room. She has a nice bathroom with a walk-in closet, a walk-in shower, and her own washer and dryer. They have a fitness room and they give her therapy for her balance and also a little bit of speech therapy. They have their own dining room and they have two free meals a day for the residents. The food is very good. I have eaten there a number of times. They have a game room and a multi-purpose room. They have choirs come in and different people for talks. They have a beauty salon. The staff is wonderful. She almost has some assisted living there because they give her something that she wears around her neck, and if she would get lost or if she would need help right away, all she had to do is press that and someone is there right away.

The Wellington at Dayton was very pretty and very nicely maintained. They have full kitchens in their little apartments. They also have two-bedroom, two-bath apartments. They have walk-in closets and stackable washer and dryers. If you want to do your own laundry, they have them in the larger apartments. Some of the apartments have little balconies. They have field trips, movies, bingo, and games. They have a transportation program if you need to be taken to a doctor and things like that. It was clean, nice, and well appointed. I have a friend who has an uncle that lives there and she told me that he is very happy there.

I looked at The Wellington when my dad was looking for independent living three years ago. I like the building. It was very nice, very new, and very well-maintained. The staff was friendly. I had a very nice tour. The rooms were very nice too. The dining area was nicely decorated and well-maintained. The food was good.

Both of my parents are at The Wellington at Dayton. It's pretty nice, very clean, bright, and cheerful. Sometimes, the service is not great. They are understaffed, and there are times when the staff members don't show up when they are supposed to. However, the people are very nice and very caring in general. The food is good in quality and variety. The dining room is beautiful, as well. The other thing that it is lacking is that they have very few activities. I think they need to improve both in entertainment and in staffing.

The Wellington at Dayton was a wonderful place, and my mother loved it, but it was farther away from my sister and I, and she is just not ready to pay to live in a community. At first, she had a few objections like you had to take the elevator to the apartment. They had us stay until lunch, and they did a really nice job of presenting it. She really liked the place, and she told all of her friends about it. The living area could be slightly larger, but this is based on the fact that my mother is still very good. She is not limited in mobility, and it would be too small for her because she is used to having her own home. They apartment size would've been fine in the long run. They had a complete calendar of things. They had gardening and places where people were able to have flowers and plants, trips into Kettering -- which is a surrounding community -- barbecues outside, and movie nights. They had physical therapy available in the facility. It's a beautiful place. It seemed to be set up very well and appeared to run very smoothly.

My mom is in The Wellington. I think everybody there is very friendly. The staff seems very attentive. I will recommend them for independent living. I don't know anything about the assisted living because they are 2 separate facilities -- the independent and the assisted.
The apartment is very spacious. Mom says breakfast is the best. She didn't really care for dinner, but breakfast is really good. I am very happy with what I have seen so far, and my mom is very happy there.
They had a library. Everybody is very helpful and willing to assist. I like that it is a smaller campus and has a more homey feeling. If you want a smaller, tighter fit with a warm community, then you want the Wellington.

We chose Wellington for my dad because it's an apartment type facility. The staff were very helpful. They have activities for the residents. My dad loved the place, unfortunately he passed away after staying there for only two weeks.
