Friendship Village is a senior community located in a quiet neighborhood of Dayton, OH. Many shopping options, restaurants and outdoor recreational opportunities are nearby, including Meadowbrook at Clayton, an 18-hole golf course that showcases the scenic natural beauty of the area.

Friendship Village supports independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehab. Assisted living services help seniors with daily tasks such as dressing, bathing and medication management. Licensed therapists are available, and registered nurses support seniors with pain management and wound care. Staff respond to community needs 24/7, providing assistance with housekeeping services and meal preparation.

The Friendship Village supports shopping and food delivery options, with Popeyeâ€™s Chicken delivered directly to seniors twice a month. Manicures are available on-site twice a week. Seniors can get together and play Wii bowling once a week or socialize with neighbors over coffee served by staff Monday through Friday.

I went to look at Friendship Village. I am impressed with the facility. The meal was fine. They have a gazebo. It was near the hospital. Everything was clean.

Friendship Village was fine. A lot of their residents stay inside their apartments due to Covid. As far as the amenities that were offered, they had good amenities. Also, some of the activities, like going out and taking them to offsite activities, had been put on hold. Pre-covid, they were available. The facility is dated and they were renovating a lot of the apartments. They said that their apartments would be updated as new residents came in. They showed us some of the updated apartments and they were extremely nice. The staff members were very friendly, very knowledgeable, very nice, and very helpful; especially when addressing questions.

Friendship Village's price was great. However, the place was old, and it hadn't been maintained well. They changed management quite a few times too. The place is very big and they have a library. However, the staff members were not welcoming.

The staff was amazing; they were wonderful and very nice. They knew my mother from another facility, and they remembered her, so that was interesting. The people in the place were very nice. They came over and said "Hi." The apartments were large and very nice -- nicer than most of the ones that I have seen. Basically, Friendship Village was really a good place, but for me it was just too far away. There was a gym, there was shopping, and they had clubs. They had other things too. They also had an art room. The food was very good. The dining room was open all day. I liked the whole atmosphere of the place. It was clean and inviting, and you could be as friendly or as non-friendly as you wanted. It was a really nice place. I wouldn't mind being there when the time comes.

My mother was sick and I needed to move her so I brought her to Friendship Village. The location was only five minutes from me so I could visit her quickly. She was in a cooped up room with not enough space for furniture. It was depressing that she was in the room everyday and never got out. At first, we thought the food was going to be good but it was not. The seniors could not chew the cooked food because it was too hard. My mom did not eat the food and it cost more to buy her food when it was supposedly part of her rent. The staff was friendly and I liked that. They tried their best to be accommodating to my mom although she was in the independent living area.
