We toured Brookdale Westlake Village. We met with the residents over lunch. We ate there and it was pretty good. The staff who toured us was very attentive and well-informed. We saw the calendar of events and there seemed to be different kinds of activities. They have a courtyard, a salon, and a movie theater, and they take people on trips. They also offer transportation to doctor visits or anywhere you want to sign up.

Everyone in Brookdale Westlake Village is very nice, very friendly, very helpful, and social. My father's always very complimentary of them. The facilities are very clean. The food is good. There's very good security as far as locking all the doors when COVID started. You have to come in through the front, so they can control who's there and the contact they have with the residents. They have a fitness room, a beauty parlor, activities, a church ministry on Sundays, card playing in the lounge, and a van that takes them on outings. They also have a room where you can put all your things (like storage) that belongs to every unit. I thought that was really nice. The place is very clean, too.

My mom is doing very well at Brookdale Westlake Village. We liked the closeness of everybody that's in there. The staff pretty much knew everybody. When they were walking down the hall, they spoke to everybody by name. The facilities are very nice. It's easy to get around and the apartment that my mother got was almost identical to the one she was renting out in town. It was a little bit smaller, but the layout was exactly the same, so it wasn't a big change for her. They do quite a few activities, such as crafts and bus trips to go out and eat or go to Wal-Mart. They were very accommodating for everything that we needed. Their price beat everybody that I went to.

When I went to Brookdale Westlake Village, I encountered them dealing with a resident who needed help and I was very impressed. However, the apartments were dreary. They had a really great exercise class and I liked the facility a lot. My biggest drawback was it was 15 minutes in good traffic, 20 minutes when not from my house. The staff was wonderful and followed up with me several times. The activities were great. I've seen their bus and their activity schedule was full.

My sister has moved into Brookdale Westlake Village. So far, it has been very positive. Her apartment has an entire different feel because it is on a corner with windows all around it. You go the kitchen and it opens up into the dining area and living room. The bedroom is off the living room sort of at an angle. It is a 2-bedroom but the other room is just for her art work. It is perfect for her. Brookdale Westlake Village take my sister's large dog, which is an 80-pound Golden Retriever who has therapy experience. We had three letters of recommendations from different doctors, and they took him. Everything is going well and all the people love him. There are also lots of activities that my sister is enjoying. She is doing some exercise class and Bible study. She seems to be doing well, and she is meeting a lot of people. It is a much more interactive environment than when she was at home by herself. She doesn't talk about her health anymore; she talks about what she is doing there. It is a very positive thing. They also have have physical therapy and a doctor that my sister can go to and she doesn't have to leave the place. They provide transportation to her doctor's appointment and dentist's appointment. They have buses that take the residents to lots of grocery stores in the area. They can provide at an extra charge in-home care like if you need someone to check if she took her medication. There is a whole spectrum from independent to assisted to memory care to rehab and skilled nursing, all in the same environment, which is very helpful.

The meal at Brookdale Westlake Village was surprisingly good. The place was even nicer. There were some parties when I was there, and they had some visitors playing music. It was terrific. The woman, Cara, was very nice and very professional.

Brookdale Westlake Village is a very nice facility, but it's expensive. The staff is very nice and the rooms are very much like a regular apartment. They're not institutional-looking and are very nice. They have exercise and cards.

I liked Westlake Village but it was a little more expensive. The facility looked like it was kept very well and it was very clean. What I liked the most was they had a patio for each apartment and that was nice. We checked out an apartment and it was very nice. They had nice menu posted and they had a lot of activities going on. The lady who took us on tour was very nice, very helpful, and friendly. I saw one of the exercise classes going on and they seem to be getting along fine and they were all talking and interacting -- I thought it was very good. It was an attractive, friendly, and homey place.
