Desert Springs Senior Living is an older facility, but very well maintained. As the residents move out, they are redoing flooring and repainting every unit. The community fee and the monthly rent are very affordable.
They offer RNs on staff. They are partnered with Anthem Blue Cross for Medicare Extension Care, which brings doctors into the facility to see the residents, instead of the residents having to go out. They also have prescription delivery and shuttle availability to go anywhere.
They took very good care of the residents I saw, and they were very polite, too. It is an age in place facility. If my father needs more care as he ages, it can be added on.
Their menu and their dining area are excellent. It is restaurant style dining. There is a limited menu with daily specials, which for my father looked very promising.
There are two RNs on-staff at any given time, and the director of the facility is an RN. It is why we're leaning that way.

Desert Springs Senior Living was behind a commercial district and a residential neighborhood that had graffiti and houses that were not kept up. So, I didn't like the neighborhood, but if that same facility was in a different location, I might feel different.
The apartments looked good. They were more affordable. The gentleman who gave me a tour was very pleasant and helpful. I also met the chef, and he was very pleasant and helpful. There was no pool though. Some places with the same pricing had pools. So, that place just wasn't for me.

Desert Springs Senior Living was the worst one I've been to. I would not consider that place at all, it's too old and the rooms are old. Generally, it's in a good area, but not what I'm looking for. I drive my own car and they don't have any undercover parking, which is one thing I am looking for. I won't park out in the sun, that just ruins the car especially here in the hot desert. All the bathroom fixtures look dated, they look like they're from the '60s and '70s, and the shower comes up to my nose. They said they would raise it, but I said that's not gonna work. Aside from independent living, they also have assisted living in a different area.

I'm in Desert Springs Senior Living independent right now. I don't have any problems. I have a little dog and I walk my dog three times a day. The food is a little too salty for me because I have high blood pressure. There are a lot of older people here. It's not all independent living. It's becoming more like an old folk home. They have a girl that gives exercises, bingo, poker, a library, and a beautician on duty. Right now, things could be better. The outside could be kept up better. The staff is good. Most of the people that can get around are satisfied with the activities. I get housekeeping and food and I like my apartment. I'm on the third floor and I have a balcony, so I'm satisfied with it.

We went to Desert Springs Senior Living, and we toured the whole place. It didn't appeal to me. The price was right, but it didn't appeal to me because it was older. I thought the apartments were not what I was looking for. There wasn't enough light.
The staff was very, very pleasant, and very nice. They were redecorating, putting new floors down, painting, and everything. It looked like they were going to fix up the hallways, take out the carpet, and put in wood floors or something.
They offered some activities very similar to the other community we saw. They take you to the doctor if they needed to and different things like that.
The staff who took us around was very, very informative.
If somebody wanted that type of place, it was fine. There was nothing wrong with it. It just wasn't what I would like.

I moved to the Desert Springs Senior Living because I like the location. They have everything I wanted, and the price is right. The staff are good. They are friendly and very helpful. The food in this place is OK. I have not had the chance to participate in an activity, but they do have stuff going on. They take care of the place, and it is in good shape. They are real sticklers for cleaning. One of my best friends is here. It is just a good place, and it is in a good neighborhood. My room is very good. It is large. It has plenty of room for me to wander in. They have a salon, a courtyard, a game room, a video room, and an activities room. They have quite a bit of extra amenities.

My mom is going to be moving to Desert Springs. Our visit to the place was absolutely amazing. Christina was phenomenal. We've been keeping in touch because we have different issues, such as insurance for her. Christina got me in touch with the correct person, we got my mom signed up, and in fact, she will get her assessment soon. Christina has been extremely helpful. They're going to give my mom a bed until her insurance kicks in and she'll get her hospital bed. I can't say enough good things about Desert Springs at this time.
Yesterday, we were there to get her bathroom in order, and we found a few repair items that needed to be done, and the maintenance staff was right there, and they took care of it while we were there. They jumped right on and were just so friendly to us.
It's an older building, so it still has popcorn ceilings and things like that, but it's clean and it doesn't smell.
When we were there first, their residents had not been fully vaccinated yet. They only had their first dose, so their kitchen was still not open for residents. They're still bringing trays to the rooms. However, Christina took us to the dining room so that we could see it. They were preparing dinner and it smelled nice, so that was a good sign. It seemed like the food was going to be really, really good. They were not sitting people yet in the dining area, but that was last week, and they have all got their second dose of vaccination, and the dining room is opening up soon.
My mom's apartment is very close to the mailbox, to their little beauty salon, and to the dining area, so she wouldn't have to travel for any of it. Once we saw it, we said we didn't need to go further, it made that good of an impression to us. So did Christina and the other staff.

Desert Springs Senior Living was OK, but it was too open for me. There were no gates, and I didn't feel secure. It wasn't for me. The apartments were smaller than I wanted.

Desert Springs Senior Living was good and it's very convenient. The staff during the tour was very friendly and very informative. I saw a one-bedroom apartment with a studio type kitchen. The food wasn't the greatest, but it was edible. It wasn't real tasty from my point of view. They had a class going on for basket weaving when I was there. They had a beauty shop, a common area, a library, and a dayroom where they do activities.

Desert Springs Senior Living is expensive. There was a 1-bedroom place, and the staff was good, but the place kind of smelled like cat urine. The cost went from $1,500 to $1,800 a month with a 3% raise every year, which priced it out of my ballpark. They have a TV room. The staff was good, informative, and well-versed in their industry.

The rooms at Desert Springs Senior Living were very plain, but adequate and a little outdated. They had great amenities and a lot of activities going on for the seniors. The staff was all very pleasant and helpful. They had Bingo, arts and crafts, movie nights, workouts, and a bus to different supermarkets or doctors' offices.

We chose Desert Springs Senior Living as soon as we saw it. The place is fine, and it is a better fit for him. It has everything. The activities are nice, and the rooms are very nice and very clean. The staff is very friendly and very accommodating. There were activities going on when we were there, and it was very lively. They have live music, and the residents were all sitting around on the lobby, listening. They have poker, and Dad is looking forward to that. The place is near an outdoor mall shop.

I toured Desert Springs, and it was my first choice. It’s an older place, but I can get a 2-bedroom, which I would like to have an apartment. They gave me a sample of their monthly calendar, and it sounded like they have wide variety of activities and some that would be participating in. It’s clean and organized. They have all the amenities, meals included, laundry, housekeeping, barber and beauty shops, libraries, game rooms, and a poker table. They have Trader Joe’s store and scheduled transportation on your own like doctor’s appointment. Cristina gave us a very nice tour, and everybody seemed to be happy. That was a good feeling.

Desert Springs was the one I liked the best. This place was fantastic. The reason I liked this one was because it was so small, and it felt like you were safe and secure every step of the way because you never got so far away from people that anything could really happen to you. It was very small and very cozy that it felt like they would be able to pay attention to the clientele a lot better. It also felt, to me, like people would be safer there.

I liked Desert Springs Senior Living a lot. It was very nice and clean. The staff was friendly, and the people living there were content and pleasant. What they offer is reasonable for the cost. I liked the size of the apartments for two people, which is a one-bedroom in the independent living part.

My uncle is in Desert Springs Senior Living and he is paying $1,600 a month in a top of the line facility with complete care that includes transportation. The payment is base on services. The more services you want the more you'll pay. They have medicare. They clean the room. They do the laundry and change the beddings. They have three meals a day. They have live entertainment from all the casinos three or four nights a week. They have a slot machine in the living room. Its fun because it doesn't pay them in money. It is in token. It is more like an arcade and they give them tickets, which can redeem for candy bars. They are not allowed to be a gambling facility. But it keeps them busy. They have a big music room. My uncle is a retired musician and there are a lot of retired musicians there. So, they always have music nights and they play. They have a fabulous food service like a five star restaurant on the floor and they are open all the time. He is in a big full living room apartment with kitchen, bedroom, a walk-in closet that is to die for and a full walk-in private bath. I just have few issues on the place. Like, I turn the light on and they see that doesn't light up and his room is not always clean.

My friend has one-bedroom-one-bath apartment in Desert Springs. He doesn't cook but if he has somebody that would cook for him, they can cook there in his apartment. With regards to the staff, my friend says that they were the nicest folks that he has run into. He also likes the staff in the dining room but he doesn't like the meals they serve. Food could be a little bit better. Would I recommend this place? Well, if I have somebody who is looking, I sure would tell him or her about this place.
