The facilities are more than adequate. Everything is clean and well cared for. As soon as I walked in the door, I felt the wonderful, encompassing welcome energy of the place. The staff is loving and caring, and listens! As one becomes infirm, help is available for hire. The attached skilled nursing facility has been really helpful for me, as I recovered from two surgeries. As I was discharged, I was able to walk back to my apartment! The dining room serves three meals a day, and the menu is varied. The cost of food is not part of your rent, so that you can eat in your room, and not feel as though you are wasting money. There is a chapel, a hobby room, an exercise area, along with various offices on the first floor as well as the dining room. The upper floors each have a large lounge area for people to gather and talk, play games, put together puzzles, watch movies, etc. Very nice place, all around!

my mother lived here and all of our family members were very impressed with her choice
I have been here 2 years and am very comfortable
there are at least 3 other residents who are "second generation" residents
staff is most respectful - always available -professional, friendly and caring - many with long employment histories here
residents are very friendly - smiling faces, lots of laughter and kindness - many have been here more than 10 years
there are constant activities indoors and outdoors in our beautiful, well-tended, court yard and walking track - activities include - physical, educational, celebratory, seasonal, faith based and just for fun - all of which are well attended by residents
lunches and dinners have published menus but also use the bistro menu with 25 choices
meals for special activities are outstanding and plentiful - there have been stuffed mushrooms, chocolate mousse, cooked to order prime rib, bacon wrapped roasted asparagus, salmon canapes
priority is given to residents at the on-site health care center for convalescence, rehab
included in the rent is free transportation to appointments and other events both personal as well as shopping, banking, meals off site, nature outings and local sight seeing
the pool and sauna are open everyday year-round for activities and personal use
there are apartments available to family members from out of town at an extremely low cost and meeting rooms that can be reserved at no cost by residents for non-residential groups
residents are welcomed and encouraged participate on committees who meet to express resident views on food services, library, gardening, volunteer organizations, building issues and more
our gift shop, run by volunteers, has a plethora of things a resident might need or just want - greeting cards, jewelry, needle and thread, stamps, ice cream, games and even eggs
we do not have chandeliers or lots of shiny glass, a movie theater nor an ice cream parlor - this is our home, and we have room and places for all our activities - friends and neighbors to laugh with and enjoy - games to play - places to go - and even turtle parades
come join us – you’ll love it

I had found Good Samaritan Society Manzano del Sol Village for myself. My mother lived there for many years. She passed in 2020. Good Samaritan Society Manzano del Sol Village was very nice. They did some remodeling during the pandemic, so it's been updated, and a lot of stuff is freshly painted, new wood floors, and that kind of thing. The staff who assisted me was very thorough about giving me all the information. I have tried the food plenty of times before, and it was good. They have a nice exercise room with some new equipment. They have meditation, acupuncture, trips out in their van, and all kinds of clubs and card games and stuff like that. They have the same things that most other places offer.
The rooms were perfectly nice. I'm taking a one-bedroom, and it's exactly like the one my mother lived in, which is plenty of room for me. I have a room that's going to be overlooking the inner courtyard, which is a nice view looking at the Sandia Mountains. They only offer one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms, but that's fine because I just wanted a one-bedroom. I have full kitchens, and that's the other thing I like. None of the other places I looked at had full kitchens. I also like that there are not a lot of turnovers in the staff. The place is very nice. They've got a beautiful inner courtyard with beautiful gardens, and it looks nice.
