We visited Heath Village. It was quite lovely, with a beautiful setting, and the scenery was very nice. It is kind of hilly and mountainous. All of the facilities are one story except in the main house, which is an assisted living facility, as well on the second and third floors. The ground floor has common areas like restaurants, a gaming room, a chapel, and a library. All very nice. The apartments were also nice, and we saw the one that would have been right for my brother-in-law, a two-bedroom with a den and a one and a half bathroom. It was quite nice there. They were in the process of painting it when we went to take a look. It had a lovely kitchen, nice granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, tile in the kitchen, wood throughout everywhere else except in the bedroom, which was carpeted. Everything was lovely. The only problem that I saw was the walking distance. He had a stroke, which affected his left leg, so he has difficulty walking, and he has congestive heart failure, which makes it difficult to breathe. The pathways leading from where you park your car to your apartment are quite a long walk, and for his apartment specifically, it was uphill. So he would have to stop four or five times along the way in order to catch his breath. I would certainly recommend this for people who are capable of walking and have the energy and the activity level to be able to do that. For my brother-in-law, it would be completely wrong; too much walking. I said to him, you could always get a motorized scooter, but he said it is for older people. It does have carports, so for an additional charge you can get a carport for your car. It had electricity so you could plug in. I forget what they call that, but it is like an engine warmer so your battery does not die. I have good things to say about it, but the drawback was the walking. It was very scattered. You have this independent little housing units, little communities, scattered around the hundred acres, and that just makes getting around from one place to another difficult. They do have shuttle service so they say if you call a golf cart will pick you up and take you to wherever you want to go on campus. I supposed that is a possibility, but you still have to get from your apartment to the parking lot, and that is still a walk.

I'm in Heath Village. It's beautiful, the exterior is lovely, and it's extremely well maintained. The staff is fine. A lot of people use the dining area, but I cook my own meals. They have excellent facilities. I enjoy bocce and I have a garden. My apartment has a kitchen, a living room, dining room, bedroom, and a full and half bath. I like it very much. It's on a very large piece of property and all the units are on one floor. The activities are very good. It's reasonably priced.

Heath Village is very good. My mother is in independent living and it’s near to my home. They have lots of activities and you can have a single, or a two-room suite. They have games, speakers, group visits, support groups, exercise things, singing, arts and crafts, and painting. There are three different restaurants on site and it’s delicious. The staff is fabulous.

My relative was a patient there for several years in the nursing unit. During his stay there, many of the CNA's and Nurses performed marginally at best. There were some excellent and caring employees but they were few. The administration is far more concerned with how "Pretty" the grounds look than the care and comfort of their residents. My relative had to move out to another facility to get proper consideration and respect. Highly advise against utilizing this facility as it is very expensive with cost increases every year and poor resident care.

It was very nice. They have different restaurants with upscale dining. They’ve got two more places that you can go and eat. The food in the dining hall that’s associated with the village was good. When we have eaten in the café, we only had salad, and it was good.

Heath Village is just not conducive, I don’t think, for my mother. They have more hotel room living where she would be in just a bed and that would be it. I wasn’t that thrilled for her at Health Village. If you had the money, it’s a nice place. It’s almost like a country club if you’re doing independent. My monther needs care, so independent is not where we could put her. I really hadn’t talked to them much, but the prices were about the same. I have to worry about what happens if she lives beyond her money, so I keep that in mind. We know people there who are very happy, because we belong to a senior group, and they think it’s phenomenal. They had different restaurants that you could go to, so the food is probably 5 stars. And as far as the facilities are concerned, I would rate it as 4 stars if you need nursing care. The people that live there think that the staff is actually phenomenal and when we went to visit with my mother, they could not have been nicer. We’re heading up there at the end of this month to take a look again and see what else is available. The activities are something that they don’t have much of, and most of the women and the guys that we know are independent so we really don’t know that much about their activities. It’s a nice community if you’re active. It’s reasonable, but I don’t know about the Medicaid aspect and that’s something why we’re going up there to find out.

Heath Village is a little more expensive, but there is a lot more going on there. It is also bigger. A friend who has been there over a year seems content with it.

The Heath Village was like a palace. Everything was beautiful. However, it was way out of our budget.

Really bad for long term care. Prices high, raise rates 5% every year. More concerned with appearances than service and care. Constant turnover of CNA's.

Heath Village is very pleasant and attractive. They have entertainment at night. They have poker, card games, reading, library, men’s clubs and women’s clubs. We had lunch there. It was very good. The one thing we didn’t like about it was it was a little hilly. If they can level out the terrain, it would be a big improvement.

We chose Heath Village for my dad because it's close to our home and it was also close to the church. The staff are very respectable. The dining area is very nice. They have a calendar where you can see many kinds of activities like bingo and game nights.

Offers different levels of care from independent living apartments/studios/cottages to a full service health care center. Since all levels are available on one campus, it makes transiting to a higher level of care much easier on a individual. The only downside is that they don't offer an assisted living level, only residential care. Facility is always well maintained. They employ a devoted, courteous staff who often goes out of their way to address a residents' needs. They provide transportation to shopping and nearby houses of worship. Many social activities available to residents.

I went to attend for a job interview, in so doing i was given a tour of the facility and was able to survey the surrounding environment, work order, daily activities ect. As soon as i walked in I remember realizing how remarkably clean the large facility was in that the Housekeeping service were experienced and well ordered from bathroom stalls to carpet stains. All the residents as well as the working staff were considerably friendly and open minded to questions and discussion. The grounds-work on the outside of the facility seemed well maintained and well-groomed. The list of activities for the elderly to participate were ample and diversified, whether it be playing card games or lifting weights in the fitness room. Lunch and dinner plans provided seemed appetizing and provided many choices for your palette. All in all i believe this facility to be above average in terms of care and service
