I visited Aksarben Village in Omaha. It was very large and roomy. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, and very friendly. They had a dining room with restaurant-type seating, a workout room, a theater, and laundry in the apartments. I saw a menu, it looked like normal, typical food. They had some entertainment the day I was there, somebody had a comedy music act going on.

Aksarben Village was beautiful, but it's very expensive. It's new and up-to-date. The person who did the tour was very knowledgeable and she showed a one-bedroom, which I'm interested in. She showed two different floor plans. It had a nice washer and dryer right in the room. Parking was under the building. They had a storage space, a big room where you can have parties for no charge, and we saw the dining area and the menu. The residents were all happy-go-lucky, and easy to talk to. I was impressed with the facility, but not the price. They had a whole list of activities posted every day. Some residents were playing cards or reading, and some were walking through the halls or sitting outside. It was lively.

I'm living in Aksarben Village. The staff is very good. The facility is brand new and pretty. The food is good. They have too many activities. They have crafts, sing-alongs, and bingo. It's expensive.

Aksarben Village was a pretty new, very nice facility, and its the closest one to our house. Were interested but because it was newer, it doesnt seem to have much going on. We never really saw any people around there, and so it just seemed pretty empty. They had assisted and independent separate, and mom has to move when she needs a higher level of care. They had a library, and we liked the amenities, but there were not many people, and Mom might be bored. It was also more expensive. They only had two meals a day: breakfast, and you have to decide if you want lunch or dinner. Breakfast was at 8:30, so if you dont get up, you miss breakfast, and youre down to one meal. It didnt seem like it would work for my mom.

Aksarben Village seemed brighter and cheerier than other places. I liked the floor plans and the two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments, but unfortunately, their meal plan was breakfast and then you pick lunch or dinner and that doesn't work for my in-laws because they sleep late. They had a very nice theater room with theater seating with a giant screen. They also had a Catholic service there on Saturdays and other activities that were explained to us. They had a shuttle that will take you to different shopping facilities that are close by. The food service was good. We were impressed with the facility.
