About This Community

Welcome to The Parkway Senior Living

The Parkway is a Blue Springs, MO senior community that offers the full continuum of care, from Independent Living to Assisted Living and Memory Care. The Parkway of Blue Springs is the area’s first Continuum of Care senior living community, focusing on providing a home for life for every senior. Providing a holistic approach to senior housing, Continuum of Care communities allow you to remain in the community you’ve chosen, with the neighbors you know, and the staff you’ve come to trust.

The mission of The Parkway is to address the needs of senior citizens, no matter the level of care needed, in a beautiful and spacious environment that not only feels like home, it is home.

Independent Living

Offering housing for adults 55 and up, Independent Living provides a community with services and amenities for seniors, with limited care assistance offered.

The Parkway Independent Living will feature 76 apartments offering studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes at an affordable price.

Each apartment will feature:
  • A full kitchen
  • Living space with functional table top counters to maximize space
  • Bathroom with walk-in shower and grab bars
  • Plenty of closet space with additional storage areas throughout

The community is an expansion of your home, providing plenty of space to entertain family and guests, or socialize with your neighbors.

  • Theater Room: Enjoy a movie with freshly popped popcorn or impress your friends with your Wii skills.
  • Men’s Lounge: Poker table and a classic feel makes this a perfect space for Friday night poker games.
  • Demonstration Kitchen: Learn a new recipe during a cooking class or engage in a lively book club debate.
  • Fitness Room: The fitness area provides a focus on preventative health and wellbeing. The space will have physician and care offices, dressing rooms, and equipment designed for seniors. We will also have an infinity pool specially designed with your needs in mind.
  • Salon: Why go to the trouble of booking an appointment, driving to the beauty shop and waiting, when you can be pampered at home? A full-service salon with massage room and pedicure station means you get the attention you deserve without the hassle.
  • Multi-Purpose Room: Residents, families or community members can reserve this space for meetings, lectures and group activities.

Assisted Living

Providing licensed care assistance, nursing and a greater level of oversight, Assisted Living also offers a vibrant, social setting for seniors. Assisted Living nearly eliminates all the need to move to a nursing home when care needs increase. At The Parkway, residents only pay for the services that they want or need. This way you avoid the costly expense of tiered services or all-inclusive fees that other communities provide, which force residents and families to pay for services that are not used. All Parkway Assisted Living resident receives regular, thorough wellness visits from our Wellness Director, so no need goes unmet and no unnecessary charges are required.

Memory Care

Memory Care provides a safe, nurturing environment for residents with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Care and services are specially tailored to the needs of residents with cognitive impediments to encourage independence, wellbeing, and dignity.

Influenced by Alzheimer’s Association training and consulting, The Parkway has developed a neighborhood that is welcoming, comforting and provides the dignity and compassionate care that one suffering from dementia deserves.

Each private apartment is designed for the comfort of cognitively impaired residents, including walk-in showers, height-appropriate fixtures, and locking cabinets to protect residents from harm.

The commons area features an open design throughout which Life Stations are placed to encourage purposeful wandering. Each Life Station is designed to engage residents through memories of rewarding tasks ingrained throughout their life, including an infant nursery for care and nurturing, wardrobe to promote grooming habits and self-worth, and work station for a sense of accomplishment.

A quiet Sitting Room provides a tranquil atmosphere for residents to relax, and the Spa Room provides a soothing whirlpool where residents with physical disabilities or anxieties can bathe and luxuriate.

We also welcome you to give us a call to speak to one of our friendly, dedicated senior living counselors. We are here to help you with your search for the right community, and look forward to assisting you with that endeavor. You will find our team is experts at moving and ways to help you finance your long-term care costs. They are available 7 days a week, including in the evenings, for your convenience.

We visited The Parkway Senior Living. We discussed all of the levels of care, but we only saw the independent. The person who gave the tour was very pleasant. Not only am I looking for my parents, but also my mother-in-law and maybe one other person. We talked through all of the care that would be needed for all of those people. They sort of explained the different levels of care, whether it be independent living versus assisted living. They don't do skilled nursing, and one of our people may need skilled nursing. The apartment that we viewed was a little small, but it seemed very nice. They provide meals. The people that were there seemed very happy. It looked very nice, well taken care of, and clean. We liked it. The staff gave us other options that might be less expensive to view, so it's extremely helpful.

The Parkway Senior Living was very nice. I was pretty impressed with them. The lady that gave the tour was very nice and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed spending time with her. It was a nice facility overall, but it was an older facility though and it didn't quite meet the needs that the newer facilities that they built did. The rooms were smaller than I expected. I would have liked a little bit more storage space for my parents. The dining area was nice. I liked the meal selections that they had and the number of meals that they provided to the residents every day. It was a restaurant kind of atmosphere. I saw areas where they could gather if they wanted to. They also have puzzles, outing activities, and stuff like everybody else did. The activities were pretty average.

The Parkway Senior Living's pricing seemed OK, but it seemed like a long way to get our groceries from the garage up to the apartment. The apartment has a small dining area, a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a closet. They furnish the appliances like a stove and a refrigerator, but you have to bring your own furniture. We enjoyed the tour, and we liked the setup of the place. All meals were provided and the dining area was like a restaurant. We went to the dining room and I was able to order what I wanted. The food was great, and I was impressed with it.

The Parkway Senior Living was very clean and bright. They have friendly staff. Residents seemed happy. The apartments were very nice. The staff who accommodated me was very, very pleasant. The dining area was nice and adequate. They have a lot of activities. They have transportation. The apartments were full apartments with full kitchens. The size was adequate. The one-bedroom was a little small for what my sister would want, and they did not have any two bedrooms. But it was a very nice facility.

My tour at The Parkway Senior Living was just fine. It was a close call for me to choose between this one and another place but they're both owned by the same company. It was very good; I don't have any negative reviews about it. The community layout was extremely good; I prefer that location. The staff that accommodated me during the tour was wonderful and I like him very much. He was very friendly, very nice, and very knowledgeable and anything he needed to be as far as being welcoming; he's a good person. The cleanliness of the facility was acceptable by all means; the apartments were lovely and they had some nice apartments and I loved the color scheme with a couple of them. But it's not brand-new.

I'm pretty pleased with The Parkway Senior Living. Corey was a wonderful individual to work with. I wanted to see what a happy hour looks, so he set that up for me and gave me tickets for free drinks. I went back and I didn't tell him I was going. I came in to check out dinner and as I was getting ready to pay, he went in and got me two tickets for free dinner. We enjoyed that and I enjoyed the happy hour as well. They have a craft room and they have a very active group. They also have different groups like for quilting. They're very friendly.

The Parkway Senior Living is an excellent place. The facilities, the rooms, and common areas are all brand new and looked very clean, modern, and updated. It looked like a very comfortable place to live. The people that are on-board are very friendly, helpful, and professional. They also invited us to come back anytime for lunch. The dining facility looked very good.

We went to The Parkway Senior Living. Their grounds weren't quite as big, but they're well kept. The rooms were nice. The advantage there was they had stoves and microwaves in there. The food was good. The people were friendly. However, you don't get your deposit back because they use it to fund the activities. It's pretty well located. They have a movie theater, and they're building a wave pool, which was closed because they were still water proofing it. They do concerts and have buses to take you to the doctors. It's very clean.

The Parkway Senior Living is in my neighborhood and I have gone there several times with my church choir. It’s pretty and fairly new. The people there were extremely nice. We saw two really nice apartments. They have safe entry and exit whereby you have to buzz your way in and buzz your way out. It’s close to Walmart, so it’s convenient for shopping, and they offer transportation.

The Parkway Senior Living had very nice rooms. The staff was nice and friendly and even checked in on me. Every now and then, I got a call from their director to see how my buddy and I were doing and if there was anything that they could do for me. Their dining area was big. It was a very nice place. They had an exercise room and programs. It was clean inside and out.

The Parkway is a smaller place and didn't have as many apartments, but it was fine. Their dining area didn't seem very big, but it was OK. You can just come and go and eat what you want to. It seemed really small, and the area with the TV seemed kind of small to me too. The staff I met was informative, and he was very nice, but wasn't as personal. He was more like a salesman. They were OK. It was brand-new and clean, but it didn't appeal to me as much.

The room at The Parkway Senior Living was approximately 800 or more square feet, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, fairly large closets, and a really nice patio. It was very clean, wonderful, and beautiful. It's very reasonably priced and includes all utilities, cable, all the amenities, and meals.

The Parkway was absolutely first class, top notch, and the newest of all the facilities we visited. It was the cream of the crop but out of our price range and didn't offer a full continuum of care. The facility was very nice, had top-notch staff, and modern. They didn't have any Medicaid bids for the future if my parents should live an extended period of time and run out of money. The staff members we interacted with were very professional, polite, and outgoing.

The rooms at The Parkway Senior Living need to be furnished by your own furniture. The place is fine for someone who knows what is going on and can enjoy the social life that is going on there.

We were impressed with The Parkway; except that we thought the living quarters were a little bit small. However, I have to say they were not furnished, they were empty. And when the rooms are empty they look a little bit smaller than when it's furnished. I mentioned this to the director. He called about a month ago and asked for a follow up. So he said if we'd like to come out there they can arrange to see a furnished apartment. During the tour the staff was very helpful, very friendly, very informative, and she answered all the questions that we asked. We went through the dining area, but we weren’t there during meal time. But it looked very clean and efficient. The tour was very good.

Parkway Senior Living was very nice, but I did not like the way the kitchens were set up in the rooms. That was my biggest problem, and I would not go there because of it. Instead of having a high, normal kitchen counter, they made it very low. I know that what’s most people need, but I did not like the look of it. I felt that the person who showed us around needed more experience. He didn’t offer coffee or a sit-down meal.

We thought The Parkway was very nice. It was clean and attractive, and the people were very friendly. We went into one apartment, and I really liked the size of the bathroom because you could get a wheelchair in there, turn it around easily, and then take it back out. It's very close to where we're living right now, so it would be easier for our daughter to visit and help us. Also, we're familiar with all of the surroundings and where we normally shop; it's all close, so we liked that. We had one meal there, and the food was very good. It looked like they had a lot of activities scheduled, but we didn't get involved with any.

Everybody was very nice at The Parkway Senior Living. It's a new facility, and so everything was very clean and fresh. The thing that was kind of nice was they have a little cafe restaurant that everybody can attend, which is very good for seniors. They also have an exercise room. They also have a big television room for the residents.

My parents were scheduled to move in the first week of July, The Parkway apartments were not completed on time as promised so they were delayed in moving in until August. As we moved them in, the halls were still in the process of being painted, their apartment had lights hanging from the ceiling, their microwave did not work, new drawers needed repaired, and the dining area was not open yet. The Parkway has been a huge disappointment for my parents and family. Their toilet has overflowed, repaired and continues to be a problem. As of tonight, their toilet does not work, They reported it this morning and were told a plumber would be coming to fix it. No plumber showed up, its bedtime and they have been told to go ahead and use the toilet and :"just don't flush it until morning." What kind of customer service is this? There is nursing service available to check on clients, but is very limited on what they offer. There is not 24/7 hour availability and this facility seems like it is more worried about inspectors and upper management coming around to visit the facility then the actual care and satisfaction of the men and women that pay hard earned money for a big disappointment of senior living.

Parkway was beautiful when you go in. The entry way, they were painting it. There is a great room there with a fireplace, and that’s really nice. They were all so polite and so mannerly. I understand there is someone there 24/7. We saw the 1-bedroom, and it has a little kitchen, it has plenty of closet space, and the bedroom was a nice size. It also was on ground floor, and it has a little area with a sliding door where you could go out with your little patio thing. It was very handy-equipped which we definitely would need. The bathroom was enormous, which seemed to me like a little bit of wasted space, but I’m sure there were some reason for that. When they do get of eating facilities in the cafeteria was a really nice set up. White linen type, and you can order anything from the menu from 7AM until 7PM, if you chose to eat there. It wasn’t really, they have certain meal times, but it’s really available anytime. They were having the dining room on the 3rd floor temporarily, and I think they had some problems with rain so they were behind getting in open, and then something flooded and so the kitchen part didn’t get all the equipment in as soon as they thought. The hair salon hadn’t opened yet, but it was very nice.

I like the fact that they were going to have transitional housing available, and it was going to be top of the line technology -- the newest technology -- for my mom. It is a new construction, so we are waiting for another week to move her in because the dining room is not ready. They were very friendly and helpful. It was new construction, so we couldn't see the rooms. We can only see a mock up, but it was going to be very nice. They showed us an example of what they do at another unit. It seems like they have a walking club and outings that they could go to. Maybe they would go to the zoo or to a movie. I haven't really paid close attention, but there was almost something every day. It is within walking distance of quite a few stores and shops. It is very close to a hospital.
