My friend moved into Holiday Briarcrest Estates. The people are really friendly. I like the place, and I like the idea that it's a small community. I think there are like 60 residents there. The food is good. It's an independent living and yet, if you need help, there's support that you can get the help you need. They have a happy hour once a week. They all get together, whether you like wine or if you just want a soda and just get together. They have a Bridge group, and then they have activities going on each day of the month. In the elevator, you can see what's going on and what floor it's on. They also have a little area where they bring the food and you can go and get food or popcorn. It is just a little bit expensive, but not overly. You're getting the meals, you have the support staff around you. So even though you're independent, you're not alone. But you don't have somebody coming in and checking on you. The residents, kind of check on each other because they're very much into the community.

I toured Holiday Briarcrest Estates. Seeing this facility convinced me that I'm not ready to go into one yet. The staff was very, very nice and cordial. The rooms were clean and functional. The living atmosphere was so depressing. It made me convinced to just go find a condo somewhere.

The tour with Holiday Briarcrest Estates was fine. The lady was knowledgeable. She was there when she said she would be there. She showed us a one-bedroom apartment, but not one that was currently occupied. It was more of what I would call a display apartment. It was a standard one-bedroom type of apartment. We sat down and talked about things for about 45 minutes, and that was the sum of the tour. It was fine with me at that point in time. I am having some difficulty walking these days. The staff took the appointment with us on a Sunday. We went there at the appointed time, and she was there to help us and to discuss things. Since then, I have talked to her once or twice on the phone. She offered me an additional tour and some additional discussion. I had indicated that I wanted to talk with someone that was actually living there if I could, and she indicated that would be possible this Thursday. I asked her about an efficiency apartment, and she said they have efficiency apartments. They are like one large room apartments, and I may be interested in that. I'm by myself at this point, so it will either be a one-bedroom or an efficiency apartment. I have not yet made a decision on that. It may depend on the cost. I thought the building was nice. It appears to be a little bit old, and it's not a real modern structure. It is a four-story building. Two of the stories are apparently below ground. They have an elevator there, so it will be stairs free for my purpose, I hope. She was very, very pleasant, and I have talked to her a couple of times on the phone again as follow-up for that visit.

The things I liked the most about Holiday Briarcrest Estates was first the location. There's a lot of things that my in-laws would probably visit that's close by like their church, access to the highway, grocery stores, and shopping areas. The other things we liked about the place was the cleanliness of it, and that the people we met were really nice. The young lady who did the tour was awesome. There's a patio, a courtyard, a laundry facility, an area for them to watch games, an area if they wanted to do puzzles, a church, a chapel, and a mini workout area that had a few pieces of equipment in them. It's just kind of outdated.

My Dad has been a resident of Briarcrest Estates for over 3 years. This is not the newest, fanciest building on the block but the staff, food and care is amazing. The residents are welcoming and look out for each other. From my experience the management is fully focused on making the tenets have a great experience every day. The building is older but very clean. I am so glad Dad is there and he is happy.

When I got into Briarcrest Estates, there wasn't anybody in the front office. They had a sign up that said they were assisting other people. Then one of the cleaning ladies walked by and saw me standing there and asked if I needed help. So, I told her I was there for a tour. She dropped everything she was doing and went and found the lady and brought her to me. The lady was very pleasant and very kind. She sat down with me for about 20 minutes and just talked about what I was looking for in my mom. She walked me through some experiences she's had with other families trying to help a family member and what she's seen worked and what she's seen worked better. She was very positive, very helpful, very informative, and made sure all my questions were answered before we went on a tour. She then took me to see the living arrangement, where they eat, the menus, where their laundry facilities are (explained how that works) and explained all the services they offer. If someone doesn't make breakfast, lunch, or dinner, they have a little deli food available. They also have a community kitchen. She didn't necessarily stop purposely talking to residents, but residents were the ones who would stop to talk to her. She would speak to them and they all seemed very happy. She took me to where they do their entertainment and their daily activities, too, and their beauty salon. She asked if I wanted to see anything else and if I had any more questions. Then she asked when I would prefer her to follow up. So, it was overall a very good experience.

I went and actually saw Briarcrest Estates. They picked me up. It's really, really nice. I'm getting a one-bedroom apartment, which is very nice, and it has a balcony. They have their dining room, and we get three meals a day, and it's restaurant style, so they have a menu. There are two choices for each course, and you can pick which one you want, save for breakfast. They might have scrambled eggs, bacon, and whatnot, and then the second choice could be oatmeal and toast with whatever else. They give two choices on that. They also give you a choice on your two vegetables. For dinner, they might have fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy, or it might be pork chops with au gratin potatoes and green beans or something. Then you get a choice of your vegetables. I ate lunch there and the food was very good, and they served ice cream with chocolate over it. That was good too, and I'm not an ice cream eater. It's very clean, everybody's very, very friendly, and they do all kinds of activities. I'm doing the independent living, and you get housekeeping with that. Nobody could go there and come back and say it was not a nice place or a non-friendly place because everybody goes above and beyond. They had a Halloween party the day I was there. They were all going to have a big Halloween party and a lot of the employees dressed up. I guess the residents all got dressed up too, but I don't know because I didn't stay that late, but it's very nice. They take you to the doctor and they'll take you to the store, and they do outings. They go to the museums and places like that. They have happy hour, too. I just ate lunch there, but everybody else says the food is always good. They also have a beauty shop there, a salon. I just rolled by it, but it looked like a very nice salon. And they also have a gym. We're all going to have fun, cause we're all real bubbly people. I'm bubbly and it's going to be a mess. Let me tell you, when I get in there, we're just going to really have a good time.

My mom is currently at Briarcrest Estates for 6 months now. It is like a small community, and all the workers are very professional. I don't get an attitude from them when I need to ask them about something. When my mom was in the hospital, they and the residents were all asking me about her. The staff members were wonderful and responsive. My mom says the food is fine. She eats it. They do have activities. I think they have arts, and sometimes they have a piano player. They just opened a beauty shop again. Every apartment has either a patio or a balcony. I don't think they have an outside space other than the front porch. Even though there's independent living only, they have nurses on-site that you can hire A La Carte for whatever your loved one needs. And I like that because it keeps the costs down. So that's worked out perfectly.

I went to Briarcrest Estates. It's in need of updates as far as the looks go. The decor is outdated, and the room is the same. I saw a room that was not furnished, and that was probably the worst part of my visit there. It looked old and depressing. The staff looked very nice, and they were helpful, friendly, and informative. I was there at lunchtime, and it was very busy in the dining area. There were lots of people, and it seemed like a very happy group of people. I saw the exercise room, a pool-table room, and a big, open area where people could gather. I think they had ice-cream socials there.

Briarcrest Estates have been excellent and helpful in getting my mom acclimated. The facility looks good, organized, and clean. Her room is clean and organized too. They do outdoor activities and the food seems to be OK. The value we get is good because they take care of her and take her to dinner if she forgets. They'll come knock on the door and get her, so they've been great.

I loved Briarcrest Estates; it was very nice. Some rooms were nice. I didn't like the room they wanted to put my mom in at all, but the facility itself I liked. I saw the food, and it looked good. What I liked least was the efficiency apartment, and what I liked best was probably their staff.

I Have lived here. Heaven help you if you’re In a situation where you needs help But can’t afford a paid caregiver. You have a family member that could stay but only for 14 days. Yes it say this in a lease but you would think common sense and human kindness would prevail.

Briarcrest Estates is decent. It's not overly great, but it's also less expensive than other places. The staff have been very friendly. My grandfather sometimes complains to me that if you'll ask them for help, they'll say they'll help but they won't. But if I needed to call the staff, they're very quick to respond. The rooms are fine, they're kind of old like the cabinets and stuff are getting a little beat up. His room smells fine, but if you walk in the hallway near his room it's very smelly. Other people's rooms also smell like urine, but my grandfather's room is okay. The food is decent, I ate there once and it was okay. For the most part, he likes the food there. They offer games, exercise, occasional outings to the movie theater or to a symphony.

I'm pleased with Briarcrest Estates. Everything is fine. The staff members are friendly and cooperative. I have an apartment, which is adequate for my needs. Nothing spacious, but I don't need anything spacious. The dining area is quite large and seats everyone that it needs to. The food is very good and nourishing. It has good taste and good presentation. They have games, bingo, and board games. They have puzzles usually set up at all times where you can go and put a couple of pieces together. They are having a dance this week for Elvis Presley's birthday. They have a variety of musical programs and religious programs, too. You can be as occupied or unoccupied as you want to be. The place is comfortable, there is plenty to do and plenty to eat. They will provide a little bistro where there are snacks usually throughout the course of the day, there's usually ice available for soft drinks and what-not.

My mother moved into Briarcrest Estates for about a month now. We've been very pleased with the facility, they've been helpful in getting her settled in. They also have a caregiving company which they worked with, and we've been very pleased with their services as well. She has a 1-bedroom apartment, but they have studios and 2-bedrooms as well. They have a regular calendar of events, but she hasn't participated as yet. They have a library, an exercise room, they do sing-alongs, special nights for cooking, and they take residents to baseball games. She really liked breakfast, but she said the rest of them was average.

Briarcrest Estates is a great location. It has a little exercise room on the lower floor, a nice dining room, and entertainment. The rooms are average-sized. They gave me a list of the activities. The physical amenities in some respect are getting a little bit dated. The building is fine, but it's getting a little bit of age on it compared to other places I also toured, but it was clean, well-kept, and had easy parking. It's also easy to get to. The person who showed me around was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and did a really good job.

I had just signed a lease today at Briarcrest. I found it to be a pleasant place; it is exactly what I want. I found the place very ample size and very safe. They also offer very good food. However, I find the price shocking; there's too much flexibility. They went up in price, i.e., $200 between one month and another month. It was $200 a month for the same apartment. The rooms were more adequate, but the staff members were pushy and aggressive.

Briarcrest Estates was good and I had a very good visit. The dining area was nice. It was a diverse community and the people seemed very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were okay. They were a little on the small side but they allow you to personalize it which is good. There were just some items that seemed a little dated but not too outdated, but for the value of the dollar amount, it's fine.

I had an excellent tour at Briarcrest Estates. They showed me several apartments. I liked it a great deal. I liked the location because it is close to the hospital. I found the people very friendly. The place is older and the layout is interesting. However, the facilities are obviously older. You can tell that from the looks of the common areas, for example, because there are stains on the carpet.

Briarcrest Estates looks like you're walking into an apartment building. It's very clean and they have lots of common areas. They're working on some updates, like their cafeteria is getting revamped with new tables and chairs. They also adjust the apartments to the specifications of the people that are moving in. So all in all, it's a nice place, and there's also lots to do. The food is made for people with diabetic needs, and my grandparents really liked it. It's very affordable and I feel that we got a really good deal on it.

Briarcrest Estates was really nice. The rooms were kind of small but cozy and had an open floor plan, bathroom, and a kitchen area. They also have 1-bedroom and studio apartments. The person who assisted me was very helpful. They have fine dining and popcorn machines, and it looks the residents are playing Bingo or a game. The food is prepared by a chef, so that's pretty nice.

Briarcrest Estates was older. The dining room was nice and not quite as elaborate. The rooms were a little dated. It was not anywhere near as fancy. The rooms were not fancy and had the old air conditioners that stuck out from the wall, and the carpeting was older, but it was still very clean. The food was fine.

I went to look at Briarcrest Estates for my mother. I think this facility is a wonderful place. It is smaller than many of the others. It is also older. The employees were tenured. The grounds were A+. I did check one or two rooms there. I thought they were very well kept and maintained. I also saw the game rooms and the gathering rooms. There were plenty of recreational activities scheduled throughout the month for just about every level of capabilities that there is. It was comprehensive from what I saw. The staff was very friendly. I like Briarcrest Estates.

We visited Briarcrest Estates, but dad doesn’t want to move in yet. I love everything about this place. The ones that we talked to are great, and I would encourage anybody to go and look at it. The rooms were great. The one bedroom is huge with a lot of closet space and a little kitchen. It also has a huge bathroom, and I thought that is great. We had lunch there, and they did have a menu so you had a choice. We enjoyed the food. From what I remember, they have some group exercises, and they have a little library as well as they have a TV room and a movie room. Those are the ones that I can remember. All in all, it was a good place.

Briarcrest was fine. It wasn't quite up to par like the other ones we saw were. The food, though, was absolutely wonderful. And, they had a lot of different programs for the people and things like that. The rooms were not quite as big, and I would have liked a bigger area because my husband and I live in such a big house. But other than that, I liked it. The staff was marvelous, but they neglected to say anything to us when I told them that we couldn't afford it and that the only way for us to go in was to go to assisted living, and they didn't even have assisted living in this facility. They didn't tell us, until about the last minute, that it was all private pay.

Mother has been at Briarcrest for two months now. We chose this one mainly because of the price and their on-site care group. If she needs extra care, she could get it at a cost. It’s not really considered assisted living, but you can get assistance if you need it. It’s clean, it doesn’t smell, and the amenities are very good for most part for the seniors. They run the facility well. The rooms are really nice, and they’re air-conditioned. It has a kitchenette, a refrigerator, and you can get a microwave. There is no stove for cooking because they provide 3 meals a day. The dining area is like a diner type. We’ve eaten there and the food is pretty good. She has not gotten fully involved with the activities. We keep on encouraging her; I think she’s still feeling her way around and getting acclimated to the place. They take them on excursions, and they provide a bus for transportation, church services, game nights, like bingo, and movie nights. The transportation needs to be improved. The bus for transportation is only provided part-time. I would like to see full-time transportation. Also, it doesn’t have a lifter for those who have wheelchairs and scooters who can’t get up and get around. Those are the things that they should be aware of and improve because that’s a safety feature.

The main thing I judged Briarcrest Estates on was the accommodations. The 1-bedroom apartments were too small. The bathrooms are larger than their bedrooms and the living area. I guess they have to make them big to turn wheelchairs and stuff around but it seems to waste a lot of space to me. That was the number one thing. They serve three meals a day, if I remember right, and I'm not really interested in that. That would be fine if it was assisted living. They have all the activities, the trips, games, the exercise. The staff was welcoming and they've done a follow-up call. What I'm looking for does not match with what they have. I would recommend them only if they would be satisfied with the amount of space available.

Briarcrest Estates was fine. They took me around. Everything looked good. The staff is very friendly. I'm a nurse so I could tell it's a nice place to work. On the lowest level, the room I saw hadn't been repainted, so it wasn't very impressive. But the next level was very impressive. I would live there, but my dad who wanted me to go look, changed his mind.

Briarcrest Estates was a beautifully decorated three-storey facility with big windows and very good lighting. It was pretty. The maintenance was good. The food was also good. However, the dining room was very crowded and they only have one elevator. So, people with mobility problems will have difficulty to get to, from and get around the dining area. The bathroom near the dining room and the recreation area where the fitness center was and where they had the activities and the movie screening rooms, none of those had handicap bars or waste toilet which make it difficult for anybody with mobility problem to the convenient bathroom. They do not allow the use of bleach in the washers and they had house cleaning and they do your linen. So, you might have linen that someone else had slept on the night before which had just been laundered and no bleach, I just thought that was poor hygiene.

Briarcrest Estates was small and it was an independent living facility, I looked for an assisted living facility. They built new apartments on my visit and the two bedroom apartments were beautiful. Briarcrest was the closest to where I liked to be. The lady there was extremely nice and charming. The facility was absolutely nice. The rooms were nice-sized. The dining room was really beautiful although I didn't eat there. They had a swimming pool and the whole works. You could do anything you wanted. The facility was very organized. However, the building was way too big that it was terrifying. You could look down the hall for a mile and you'd think you'd never get to your room. Everything was very plush and elegant though. It's a great place if you want to live on a cruise ship. I guess I liked the area, but not where they put the building. It's a little bit difficult for me to get there because it's in the middle of an industrial area. When you look out the window, you're not sure what you're going to be looking at.
