I'm at Cedarhurst of Tesson Heights. I felt like it was the best thing for me. They got good reviews on therapy, and I find out the therapy is very good here. The meals are adequate. I like the rooms. They have wide doorways, I'm in a wheelchair, so it makes it easier for me to get in and out from room to room. Actually, it's two rooms. I have a bedroom and a living room, and it's easier to get around. I got hardwood floors and sharp carpeting, so it's easy to maneuver around in my wheelchair. I like it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have lots of activities. They have happy hour once a week and they have bingo, which I don't care too much about. They also have movies in the theater. However, I think they need to improve on call response. When I ring my call light, response time is something that they definitely needs to be improved on.

Cedarhurst of Tesson Heights was a fine place. The facility's nice and they gave us a wonderful price as compared to some other comparable facilities. They've been doing a lot of remodeling while we were there, but just make sure to read their contract very carefully and be very careful of what they are going to consider in the contractual process. They've got some wording in their contract where you can't get your money back unless you stay there for a period of time. In this case, she didn't move in at all, but we took a few boxes down there and put them in the room for a week. They considered that a move in as that's what their policy was, but in the end, she wasn't eligible for a complete refund. Other than that, the staff was very informative and very sensitive to the needs of my friend.

It has overall been fairly positive up until today. It's not that it was super negative, but I felt like the check-in process could have been a little bit smoother and more directional. I just felt like I was going in a million different directions and maybe that's the way you're supposed to feel, but I felt like I had to ask all the questions instead of being volunteered that information, because I don’t know what I don't know. I didn't know what questions to ask, so it had been overwhelming. The rooms are nice, and the staff has been great, nice, and friendly. My mom moved into independent living. They have free transportation, dining, and a lot of social areas like a movie room, a gym, a beauty shop, and a library.

It was homey. We saw a room, and the size was fine. The staff answered more questions. It wasn't as fancy and didn't have as many amenities, but it felt nicer.

It was clean and I liked the rooms because they were fairly big. I liked the way the food was handled there. It was independent living, but they also have assisted living in the same place. The staff was very nice and very friendly.

I liked everything. It was very clean, and they cared for their residents. The staff member that we gave us the tour was very helpful and informative. We went over the different scenarios as far as the care offered and what we would need to do. So far, we had a very positive experience. They had a big crossword puzzle on the board that they were trying to solve. They had a library and different activities to keep them busy. They served three meals a day.

My grandfather moved in last Sept. 7. We chose it because of location, cost, and activities. The staff was very nice. The director was great; the front desk people were all very willing to answer all our questions, and if they don’t have an answer, they will find it for us. He has a studio apartment with a large walk-in closet. They have bingo, exercise class, arts class, and Wii bowling. They have a nice library with five computers that can be used. They have three meals a day in a nice dining room, and they can order off of a menu or the special of the day.
