We went to Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud and toured the independent living. The independent can go into assisted living if need be. It's a beautiful place. It has lots of open spaces for people to congregate and walk around in. They have lots of activities and several activity directors to help coordinate different activities for people. I found it to be a very pleasant, wonderful place to be. The rooms had nice lighting. For that type of living, the room size seems to be fairly reasonable. It doesn't seem too cramped. The only downfall would be in the kitchen area the cabinets are quite high. As you get older, you can't reach up quite so high. The lower parts of the cabinets are fine. The storage in the kitchen is not the most convenient.
They have activities throughout the day. The dining area is more like a restaurant where you order off the menu. You have a couple choices. It gives you flexibility and makes you not be like in a nursing home type situation. I only met two of the people there and one was just the person that is directing the tours. I'm sure the staff is good because the place seems to be happy and functioning well.

I had a tour of Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud. It was a very nice place. They're very nice people. It's all new. The host people and the people that live there were very friendly. It's a very appealing property. The staff was excellent. Everything is sparkling clean and neat. The host people that work there are all top-notch. I would rate it very high. It's sure not going to be a problem to get people in there because it is nice. We are looking at independent living right now, but the idea of a place like that is if one or the other gets ill, you can progress and still be in the same facility as long as you can be together at least part of the time. It's what we would want. The upkeep was outstanding. They got the underground parking; they got everything you could ever want.

The only thing I didn't like about Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud is the bathtub. It was a bathtub with a shower and, I think for my dad, I prefer just the shower that you could walk in. I thought you could fall or something in a bathtub.
It's a fairly new facility. I looked at independent living but I think it's the same part with assisted living. I was kind of shocked at the bathtub with the shower. I thought to myself, I don't know how many over-70 people take baths. What I usually see are walk-in showers where you could put them on a chair or something.
The apartments I went to were clean, one was even furnished. I think that's the one they show people. It's a 2-bedroom independent living one that I looked at. The staff also showed me a 1-bedroom with a den. What I like about them is they had railings in the hallway. My dad should be using a cane and a walker, but he refuses. He's also got COPD so he gets a little winded once in a while so I thought the railings are convenient.
They have a couple of outdoor spaces like the fire pit and a couple of party rooms inside that you could use.
The lady that was giving the tour was fine. She wasn't pushy. When I walked in, a staff member was helping some ladies with the puzzle and talking to them.

My mom moved into Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud. It's bright, open, new, and modern. The food has been very good. You get a nice large washer and dryer in your apartment. It feels more like a nice luxury hotel than maybe an assisted living place. They have all kinds of different activities going on each week like cards, bingo, and some exercise. I think they have book clubs. They have a salon right there in the facility. The food has been very good for my mom, and she likes it. The staff members were excellent.

Talamore Senior Living - Saint Cloud has everything for senior living. They go from independent living to assisted living and onto memory care, so it's a one-stop place and everything is there. The mail is indoors, the parking is indoors, there's a game room, a chat room, and a restaurant. It's a nice place. The rooms were very clean, very organized, and well situated. There is a theater, a gathering area where they play bingo, an area where you can come down and read the paper, a beauty salon, a little coffee shop, and a bistro too. I think my mother-in-law is going to like it. I think she's going to get along with everybody because everybody was just friendly.

I checked Talamore Senior Living for my mom. We looked at a couple of apartments and talked to somebody. They walked us through the place, and it was a really nice place. They do have assisted living, but we looked at their independent living.
It had lots of light and was laid out nicely. It just seemed like they knew what they were doing when they put the place together. It's pretty new because the staff said that they have apartments that nobody has moved in yet. Because of Covid, they had to kind of put things on hold. It's nice, clean, and bright. They have activity rooms, and it seemed like they had a lot of things for the residents to do. There's even a place where you can garden outside and stuff. I'd move there myself.
We only said hi to the front desk person, and then somebody showed us around. I only talked to one person, and she was very, very nice. She even called back to see if mom was interested.

The lady at Talamore Senior Living was nice and very helpful. She took me all around. The rooms were comfortable looking. She showed me double rooms, and they were corner rooms. The only thing is the view is the shopping center, but otherwise the building was nicely laid out. Activity was a bit limited, but only because of Covid. I didn't see anything, but bingo. There were some activities, but there weren't many people there yet. They were just really bringing people in.
