I did a tour of Mankato Lodge Senior Living yesterday. It looked very pleasant, neat, quiet, and clean. I didn't see any drawbacks with it anywhere. I met the activity director and also the lady that is in charge of the food. I found them both to be very pleasant and personable. All three people that I met were helpful, courteous, and polite. I found this facility to be very nice. They just remodeled not too long ago.

We toured Mankato Lodge Senior Living for ourselves. We liked the grounds there, it was nice and open. It was located up on the hilltop area. They're close to the main shopping area, so it's convenient. The 2-bedroom apartment we looked at was pretty large. They provided the meals for everybody, and we saw their dining room. It wasn't quite as opulent compared to other places, but it was nice. There seemed to be a lot of activities. A lot of the residents looked pretty involved in the activities. There were lots of people doing things when we walked around. The kitchen inside the apartment was functional. They had a microwave and a refrigerator. They had a garden outside, and they had nice raised beds for the residents' own gardening. The staff was really helpful. She had a dog with her who seems to be like the most popular guy in the whole facility.

I was very impressed with Mankato Lodge Senior Living. The room sizes were pretty good. There were multiple of them, and there were a couple that I thought would be adequate for what we were looking for. You could pick how many meals you'd like to attend a day. The lady made it very clear that even on weekends, there's always some sort of administrator on duty, which I thought was a good thing as well as nursing service if they needed it. It was just a little bit older than some of the places I looked at, but that's not necessarily a game-changer.
They have all kinds of social activities and exercise-type activities. They were actually about to start a storytime event when we were there. The staff seemed great and I was impressed at the fact that a lot of the employees were there for a good length of time and that says something about the company that runs the place. It's good to have happy employees because then that carries over to the residents.

I like Mankato Lodge Senior Living. The reason I like it is that they had raised garden plots and I love that. It was more of a cozy home setting. They have stoves and refrigerators in the apartments. They have a nice big courtyard where they have picnics and stuff in the summer. And if you have a bunch of family members that want to get together, you can go sit out there. The lady that took me on the tour was super nice. She knew all the residents' names. It was so cozy there. She showed me the menu that they were having yesterday for lunch. Then she sent me home with a menu that was going to be for this whole week and another thing where she had all the activities that were going on for the week so that I have an idea of what kind of activities they have and what kind of meal plans they have.

Mankato Lodge Senior Living was a nice facility. The lady was very friendly and very helpful. Their rooms were a little smaller, but they were nice. They had meals, schedule of events, and activities for people to do. Some of the activities were for strength, agility, and balance training stuff (which was good).
