American House Carpenter is a very nice place. They have very fine activities, music, and everything you could ask for. We have art, every Friday they have a very nice social hour, there's entertainment that comes in. They have a variety of activities. Sometimes, they have a ride to Meijer's, and transportation where they'd take people out to a meal. The food could be better. They have good housekeeping, and they do laundry.

I'm almost done moving into American House Carpenter. I like that the person who showed me around was very knowledgeable, showed me a room, and explained all about the food and everything. I'm quite satisfied with it. I like the location. It's very close to shopping, it's just within a couple of city blocks from where I shop and there are restaurants in the area if I wanted to eat out at any time. So far, moving in and everything, I'm quite content with the area. I've had no bad experiences at all. The young lady that toured me all over the place and showed me around, was very thorough. Everything was fine inside the facility. The outside is also kept quite well with good landscaping, and they had ample parking. I looked at a couple of other places that are a little higher scale but they cost more money. American House won me out on location. Everything about my room is immaculate, they also have a barber shop or beauty salon.

I have just moved into American House Carpenter. It's independent living. I'm going to take my lunch and dinner here. It's very clean. The one thing I really love about it is that there is absolutely no smoking. I don't think I have enough experience here, but the one thing I can say for sure is that the food is good. Their soup is just outstanding, The soup is better than the whole rest of the meal, and the rest of the meal is pretty darn good. The people that I've talked to (including the chef and the person that oversees everything) are pretty good. They have activities. They have speeches and lectures that you can go to.

I toured American House Carpenter. I found it a little cramped because there's not much around. It seemed to be a little cramped because of the location. It was quite friendly. However, I wanted something that was a little bit more open. Everyone was very friendly. It's a typical senior living. They have a small exercise room. I ate there, and their food is a reasonable variety.

We visited American House Carpenter. They were very nice and very helpful and they showed us around the whole facility. They were very helpful in explaining and answering any questions that we had. They had a whole month full of activities. The residents can pick and choose what they want to do. They all go into a dining room and sit wherever they want and they can pick what they want from the menu, so that was very nice. They're in the middle of a remodel. The one-bedroom was more than adequate for what we were looking for. It was clean. We went to the dining room and the hallways and everything. They had an exercise program in the front lobby and there were some residents taking part in that.

I liked everything about American House Carpenter. It was just a little bit pricey. I had no complaints. They were very attentive, kind, and friendly. Everything about it was nice. I didn't try the food, but it looked good. It could be a little bit more spacious, especially for the handicapped. They had a patio and a movie room.

I did a tour of American House Carpenter. The staff was really knowledgeable, super friendly, and helpful. The rooms were OK. I knew they were there remodeling the main part, but I don't think they're remodeling the rooms. The rooms I would probably rate a four. I thought they could use a little brightening up, but I don't know if they were going to be working on rooms as well. They were just kind of working on the main area at the time.
The maintenance and upkeep were good. There were some noises from the remodeling, but the main area looked really nice. The dining area is also very nice. I thought that it was bright and inviting. They were actually doing a Christmas activitiy; they had somebody coming in and doing music. Everybody was out listening to the music and kind of singing along with Christmas music; it was great.

American House Carpenter was very friendly and very thorough with answering questions. It's older, but it's very clean. There's no clutter, smell or anything like that. The administrator was very very pleasant and answered all of our questions.
I saw a one-bedroom, and it was a very good size. They didn't have any studios available, and that was another option that I was thinking of. The one-bedroom was very nice and very well-kept. They have dining experiences with three meals per day. Each resident had their own key to access their room and the outer doors. They had complete freedom to come and go as they pleased. There were recreational activities, and they had a schedule up for that. They had menus that were easy to read. You would know what to expect in terms of meals. Right now, they keep track of those who have been vaccinated and those who have not been vaccinated. Those who have not been vaccinated must wear a mask.
They have a pretty general breakfast menu, but they may have a special breakfast every week. The room was equipped with a small stove and an oven, so that was nice just in case somebody didn't want to go downstairs and wanted to prepare their own. The good thing about it was that there is a bus stop very close, where they can take a bus if they know the route. For those who didn't want to take the bus, it was walkable to major stores and supermarkets. It was good to me.
They slowed down their recreational outdoor excursions because of COVID, but they said that they're hoping to start that again and be able to plan a trip. They do have an activity director and nursing staff in the building 24/ for emergencies. One thing was that they definitely needed to change the carpeting. The carpeting was very old and worn through the hallways. The carpeting in the rooms wasn't bad, but you could tell that they were old.

I completed the tour at American House Carpenter for my mother. I was very impressed. It was really a good choice. What I like was the cleanliness, the staff, and the three meals a day offered. The staff was excellent. They had a library, activities room, and a living room for residents that wanna socialize.

American House Carpenter is an older building, and not as modern as some of the other facilities I've seen. They serve three meals a day, and take care of laundry and housekeeping as much as you want them to. Actually, they take care of everything except for the TV, telephone, and things like that. They also have a nice walking area on the grounds, they allow small dogs, and the food was institutional but still adequate. They do have an activities director, they have a dial-a-ride for Ann Arbor so you can go anywhere in Washtenaw County for a very minimal amount of money. They also have buses to take you to different places. I didn't see any activities going on when I was there, but the residents seem to know what and where they were. There's no exercise room, but they have an old movie room. The dining room is different because it seems to be a part of the pathway from the front of the building to the back, so the whole time we were eating there were people coming through on a steady basis. That didn't excite me terribly. However, they do make an attempt to put you with people who you will have something in common with when you go into the dining room. It's not a sit-where-you-will place. I'm interested in this place. The individual rooms were lovely.

American House was very friendly, nice and accommodating. The people there looked very old. It was in an area you can't walk to, but I was told that if you walk, you can go to a grocery store. They had a lot of activities, like cards and bingo.

American House was nice. The apartments were fairly small; the library was tiny. We didn’t like the location; it was on a busy street with no walking paths around it. It was right next to a high rise and across the street from a motel. The price was OK; the hostess was nice. They seemed to have a lot of activities. They had entertainment; somebody was playing in the lobby.

The apartments are very nice at American House Carpenter Senior living. They have plenty of room and everything in the room was brand new. They have a lot of activities like ceramics, card playing, theater and other things. The people working there were very nice and helpful. The food is excellent; they gave us two choices and a full course dinner. It's a place I'd like to live in.
