American House Troy is located fairly close to my family, which is very good. They have available parking close to the apartments. The laundry is close to the apartments. It is very promising. The staff are extremely patient. They are extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I also noted that the residents were happy, chatty, and smiling; therefore, something must be going right. At the moment, they are having some shortages of employees in dietary. They are not using the dining hall at supper. They are delivering meals to each person's apartment, but that will be corrected as soon as they can hire enough employees. The place was clean. There were no body odors on the floor. When I toured through, there were people gathered in different places, in different rooms, and doing different things. The activities director was very busy. He had lots of things to do, so that's impressive. The menu looked good. I did not eat a meal there, but it did look good and diversified. I was introduced to the head of housekeeping. The two-bedroom apartment comes with a dishwasher, even though you have meals available should you choose. Every apartment has a balcony or a patio. The only thing that is lacking compared to other people is they do not have a basement, so there is no basement storage. That doesn't affect me because I travel light, but it may be of some concern to some people who have lots of treasures at home.

I toured American House Troy, and I didn't like it. I didn't care for the way they charge different things, but the tour was good. The girl that assisted us was very good and encouraging, but I didn't like the place. Unfortunately, because of Covid they have very little going on, and I understand that. I know they play cards and have bingo. It has most of the amenities that almost every one of these places have with very little difference. I saw the 2-bedroom unit, and I thought the kitchen was very dark and the rooms were very small. I didn't come in contact with any staff member except the girl who was showing us around and doing the tour.

American House Troy Senior Living had very friendly staff and administrators. It's a very good value for the right guest. If you have certain needs, they would be an excellent value. They offer government subsidies for the right candidate. It's clean, but a little bit older, and it needs a little updating. They provide three meals a day.

I moved into American House, it's like an apartment complex, and it's very nice. The staff is very nice and very helpful. They prepare meals for us, the food is really good, and the dining area is very nice. They have a library, a weight room, and they have a lot of games throughout the day and evening.

American House is really nice, but the hallways are too close. There's a cramped feeling in it, and there's no way for people to be outside. However, it has a cozy, and pleasant atmosphere. There were different sizes of apartments, and the staff worked well with the residents. You can have a washer and dryer in your own unit, they serve 3 meals, and the menus looked good.

I visited American House, and it was very nice. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The dining area was spacious and well organized. They had good cooked food. The grounds were very nice, private, and well-kept. You would be able to walk the grounds and enjoy nature.

It was beautifully ornate as you walked into the lobby of American House. When I looked at the apartments that they offered, I thought the bedroom and living room were small. The amenities were very nice, but it was expensive, and I couldn’t afford it. They had an exercise room, they had a van that took you within a 10-mile radius of place, and they had a dining room and a library.

I found the staff at American House Troy Senior Living to be extremely helpful. I liked the size of the rooms and thought they were adequate. I liked what they had to offer and thought the rate was very competitive. The dining room was fine. All of their rooms were very pleasant. They were very nice and gave us a gift of a pecan pie, which was absolutely delicious. They had amenities. When we were visiting, there was a group coming back from a day out shopping or something. It was nice to see that they took the time to take the seniors to outside activities. That was something I would want for my mother. I thought it was a safe place to put a loved one and very accessible, so you would be able to visit them and bring them to your house. It was a very safe and caring place for your loved ones.

The population of the American House in Troy did not quite meet my mom’s needs, and the hallways were narrow so she did not really feel like she would fit in. My parents seem to be a little bit more medically fragile at the time. We did a visit, and she was very friendly. The staff was nice, attentive, and friendly as well, but she decided she did not like this place as much as the other two we visited. She and I were not impressed with it. It had tight doorways, and the kitchen was obstructed. The layout was not compatible for a wheelchair to get in and out of very well.

The staff in American House is very pleasant and courteous. They were very helpful in as far as showing me exactly what I thought I would like to have in a place. They showed me different types of two-bedroom apartments. I think they had a lot of activities.
