Mom moved to Shore Haven recently. It was a big decision to move mom to a senior living community. The staff is wonderful and made the transition seamless. Every staff member has made mom feel welcome and part of the community. Mom was assigned an ambassador who helped mom join in the many activities offered. It is so nice to see mom chatting away at lunch with her peers and then spending her afternoons and evenings in activities she enjoys. The executive director Brian was instrumental in making our decision to have mom live at Shore Haven. He answered all of our questions and his helpfulness exceeded our expectations. Once mom moved in, he checked on her often and promptly completed any requests we had. I would highly recommend sending a loved one who needs companionship and TLC to this community.

My father has been doing good at Shorehaven. It's clean, and they keep him busy and he stays occupied. He loves the food. The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. It's very nice. They have the lake right behind, so there are several serenity areas for the people. They just had a barbecue. The grounds are very clean. My dad loves it there. The food was very good.

We went to Shorehaven. The layout of the rooms was pretty nice. The fact that they had balconies or patios for every unit was nice. The negative part was it didn't have a workout room and I'm not crazy about either of any of the facilities where all the food is included. One other thing that I saw was they had an outside patio where you could sit and eat, and then they also had somewhat of a lake or a pond where you can go out sit by the pond. The facility looked like it was in pretty good shape for the age of the building. The apartments were more than adequate.

I did a tour with Shorehaven in Sterling Heights. Heather, the one who toured me, was very informative, and the tour and the facility were very nice. I didn't see any residents. With the virtual tours I had, I was able to see the entire facility, but with the in-person tour in Shorehaven we were only allowed to come in and view the apartment. We weren't allowed to physically walk the premises due to the COVID-19 restrictions that we have in place in Michigan and whatever guidelines the facility had to protect their residents from the virus, which I understand. They just gave us an overview of the apartment itself. It was OK, but I will say that I've seen nicer apartments, and not necessarily the layout. I will say maybe the condition of the apartment. I've seen a lot nicer apartments for the price that they're offering. That was probably the only concern that I had. It was a clean and empty apartment, but I think just given the age of the apartment that's what I mean by condition. So that was just a little bit of a concern for me with that facility. But other than that, what I saw when they walked me through it virtually, the facility itself appeared nice. A lot of times when you see things through a video it has a different perspective to it versus seeing it in person, like you can see the carpeting is outdated and things like that. So as far as with the virtual tour with the rest of the facility, it appeared to be OK, but when we get into the apartment in person it might have age a little bit more than what it looked like on the Facetime call that I had with them.
The staff who conducted the tour, Heather, was very nice, very informative, and very personable. Just with her speaking with her colleagues that worked with her, it appeared that it is a good facility. I believe they are for longevity there with employees, so that's a good sign. That's something that I do look for when I do interview these facilities, the work longevity of the staff. If they've been there for a long time, it seems to have a benefit for me.
The room that we looked in, it was off of the water, so that was nice. Parking seemed spacious, walkways clean, it had a patio, and you could sit out there, and each room had an outdoor patio, which if you are in the main floor, obviously you get that patio. They have three levels, so the other two have balconies. It was nice, you're able to sit since it has a small table and two chairs; sufficient enough for an individual who resides there.
Just because of the age of the apartments and the cost, and I believe their increase is at least 5% a year, and when I looked through the packet, the beginning price is like $3,300 for a one-bedroom, that's what I remember off-hand. So with the 5% increase, given the age and condition of the apartment, if my mom is paying over $3,000 a month, I've seen much nicer apartments for that price range.
Heather was fantastic, she was on time with the phone calls, on time for the meeting, and very personable. The rest of the facility I've seen only virtually, and what is seen virtually could be interpreted differently when you're there in person. You kind of don't get a feel for the actual environment, like the wear and tear of the carpet, or you couldn't taste the food or anything like that. They would not let us in to walk and view the entire facility. We actually had to park and walk outside the apartment to the main floor, and that was the only in-person accessibility that we had.

My mother has been here for over 3 years and we couldn't be happier. Wonderful staff and facility. Would definitely recommend.

I really liked Shorehaven, but the room location wasn't exactly gonna work for my uncle. I have nothing bad to say about them. The staff was very nice. They all seemed to have a very good relationship with the people living there, and they were very attentive. I didn't see anything that I didn't feel was bad or anything. It just wasn't gonna be the place for my uncle. I didn't see much due to COVID, so we didn't go very far, but everything I saw there was very nice.

My mom moved into Shorehaven and we seem to like it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My mom's room is definitely adequate. There are some issues with the flooring, but they've corrected it, so they were very helpful in that aspect. Our concerns were addressed. The food we had was very good.

My mother has moved into Shorehaven. Everything is excellent. The staff, the service, and the food are good. We have no complaints. She has a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The value is very good.

Shorehaven Senior Living was well kept up and well run. The staff was very good. I'd give them a four/five for cleanliness, newness, the cheeriness of the decor, and just the overall appearance. The one-bedroom apartment had a kitchenette. They have a library and an exercise room.

This food is the worst I've ever tasted. My husband was in a nursing home and the food there was better. If you are looking for independent living this is not for you. The focus is on assisted living. Residents complain about food, staff and activities.

Atria Shorehaven was a very nice place. They have been in business for 27 years. They do continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so they have 3 different meal times. They have a little snack bar that was kind of like a coffee house right in front, which was nice and convenient. They had the lifeline bracelet and necklace, which was a nice safety feature, in addition to the courtesy check. Every place that we went to has a courtesy check, but this also had a lifeline, and you could choose between a necklace or bracelet for the residents to wear. They also could include a carport, so they have options for parking which includes covered parking. They have a town car which was almost like a personal limousine for the residents to use on appointments six days a week, and for big events, they had the shuttle. The staff was super sweet. It was the most professional place that we visited from an organizational standpoint. But at the same time, when you have that professionalism, you also have to pay for that. So they were the most expensive place we looked at, and we had to exclude them due to cost. They were convenient to a shopping mall; they were literally right across the street from the mall. There were a lot of conveniences, and they also pride themselves on being the most active community. They have more activities than you can fit on a calendar, but the cost was out of our price range.

My mother is at Atria Shorehaven. I like the facility. The woman I talked to was very honest, so that's why we chose it. They have a library, workout room, movie room, and a beautiful dining room. It's very nice. They have menus, but if you don't want what they're serving, there are lots of different choices. They have activities every single day.

Atria Shorehaven looked beautiful. I like the client-employee interaction, and it was very welcoming. It was clean, and there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it. Everybody was very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure that I saw the rooms that I wanted to see and got the views that I wanted to see, and I was very interested in making sure my parents got a sunny location because that is very important to them, that they be able to go out on to a balcony or go out somewhere and have sun.

Atria is very nice, and they have a big pond and a walking track around it if you want to go. The lobby isn’t that big. The rooms were smaller with a living room, bathroom, and nice kitchen, but no washer and dryer. Some were furnished, and you could try it out for six months to see if you like it. The dining area is very nice. They give you a menu and you choose what you like. The staff seemed very nice. They have activities for the month; they have sing-alongs and exercises. From what I saw, I would stay there myself.

I think that Atria Shore Haven is an excellent placement for some who is looking for placement for a friend or a love one. This facility is elegant inside and outside and it is near a beautiful Lake and the residents are also allowed to go out and walk along the lake shoreline. This is offered as one of the fundamental pleasures of life for choosing to live there for their residents. Their residents are offered free dining served in an elegantly rich looking dining room with crystal chandeliers and crystal dishes and fine silverware.
While there, I noticed that their residents are living very free life styles. They provide for their residents with such a beautiful elegant and luxury, homey environment and atmosphere. Their residents receive the highest quality services and care from their very caring staff and management there and all are also like family towards one another. Their residents are also served very delicious delicatessen style menu with a varied menu to fit all of their residents' individual nutritional and dietary needs also on a varied restaurant style basis. There seniors love it there and their seniors love to socialize and interact with one another there.
They also provide their seniors there with a vast majority of services, activities, entertainment, and recreational and off site activities as well. I would definitely recommend any and everyone 50 and over to this facility. I know that they would love it there and I know that their residents receive excellent care there. This facility is very elegant and luxury style and do not smell fresh country scent of greenery and flowers. I would have to rank Atria Shore Haven on a five plus stars rating for their excellence, elegance and for their expertise.
