I toured The Lodges of Durand and I would rate it with a one. I didn't like it at all. I didn't like the atmosphere of the place at all. It didn't feel homey to me and felt very institutional. I also didn't like the lady that I met, she was very pushy and kind of misrepresented them, especially in relation to the other communities. She also kept saying that they're the least expensive, but I also found them to be the most expensive. They had assigned seating for the meals; they actually had people's names taped to where they were supposed to be sitting. I felt like that was not appropriate. I didn't like how they had the call button set up in the room. It's strung up on the ceiling and down the wall so it looked very low-rent. I just wouldn't recommend it. That one lady that I met I would rate a one, but that's not representative of the whole staff, even though I only interacted with that one lady. This place sticks out to me the most probably because I dislike them so much.
