I toured Springhouse Senior Living. I liked the size of the rooms; they had a built-in bookcase and a den. I also liked the fact that they give out options like no carpeting because I have dust allergies, so to me, that was great. There was a buy-in, and so I would be selling my house so I could afford the buy-in, but the monthly charges were quite reasonable compared for what you get. You get more days of housekeeping and meals. I thought it overall provided more value for the dollar.
It was a step up from the others. It has a zoo nearby and it has an arboretum. The community is very nice. They provide parking for whichever entrance you find convenient. They don't mix independent living with assisted living, so you would be with people that you were kind of on a par with as far as activities. The amenities were very nice. They had a library. I also liked the facilities. The dining room was very nice, they had storage, and I like that they had washer-dryers included in the unit. The staff seemed very nice and very helpful.
