About This Community

Orchard Cove is a warm, inclusive, and award-winning senior living community in Canton, Massachusetts. Created by Hebrew SeniorLife, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School and a leading nonprofit senior care and aging research organization, Orchard Cove is known for its resident-driven culture. This is exemplified both in the way we empower seniors to reach their own unique goals and in the way the community as a whole is continually shaped by those who live here.

Our apartments are nestled in a beautiful, 38-acre pondside campus close to roads leading to Boston, the southwestern suburbs, and the South Shore. Residents enjoy an active lifestyle that affords them the opportunity to pursue their interests and continue to learn and grow. With a range of residential choices – from independent living to enhanced living to skilled nursing – and the peace of mind of our all-inclusive pricing and LifeCare options, Orchard Cove offers a continuum of care that serves seniors as their needs evolve over time.

In addition to a vibrant social atmosphere, residents take advantage of our intellectually stimulating programs, dozens of clubs and committees, four dining venues, a research-based fitness program, and onsite Harvard Medical School-affiliated medical services. With staff that often feel like family, our community is dedicated to helping each resident live their best possible life – at every stage of their life.

I went to Orchard Cove. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The facilities are up to date and the size of the units is good. The physical setting is a lot of woods and ponds and hiking trails and walking trails. A lot of activities. Everything's included. They would redo a place as soon as a new person came in, including putting in new appliances and new flooring when it's needed. They paint it. Everything is ready. It's going to take one to one and a half years, or more before a unit opens up. It was very expensive. The good thing is, it's a continuation of the care community. So if you need another assistance, there is assisted living, and there's memory care. The monthly fees include everything, but your personal phone. But it's very high. We're going back, and they invited us for a meal. The good thing is, It also has underground parking. So, in this area where winter is pretty severe, they had spots for if you have two cars, you could have two underground spots.

I toured Orchard Cove. The amenities are overwhelming. They have a magnificent pool that has an everyday lifeguard. They have all kinds of classes that take place in the pool, from water aerobics to water volleyball. They have a full-sized gym with two trainers full-time, which is incredible. They have four dining rooms. They have a beautiful library, and it's decorated beautifully. The lobby is magnificent. Just everything that I saw was very, very appealing. The apartments look terrific. Most of them have screened-in porches. It is not inexpensive, and that will be the only question that I would have. I still have to work out the numbers, because it is quite up there in terms of expense. I toured their independent living, and then they also have enhanced living -- which is the same as assisted living -- and skilled nursing care if needed. They have different contracts and different amounts of money for all of those things. The apartments have full kitchens, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, a washer-dryer, and a step/walk-in shower. It was really quite impressive. The person who took me around was quite excellent. Very informed and very helpful. Everybody in the place that I was introduced to was delightful. It was just a delightful place. It made a very strong impression. The staff was very knowledgeable. They also have underground parking. They're affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and they have a full-time doctor onsite five days a week, and there are two nurse practitioners who are there all the time. In the assisted living area they have other nurses available in case of an emergency or something like that.

I liked everything about Orchard Cove. They're well organized and well planned, had beautiful surroundings and beautiful walking paths around. They had very nice, friendly, and helpful people around. The staff during the tour was fantastic. It's an excellent facility. They had a beautiful swimming pool. It's clean and nice. They had a gym and a courtyard. They showed us several rooms and they were wonderful except for the relatively low ceiling. It's in a beautiful park with a river and lake around, walking paths and lots of green. They provide transportation.
