My mother is at Lakepoint Wichita. It's overpriced for the benefits. It was promised that she would have an addition to a 1977-era apartment, at least access to nursing that was close by if she fell. She was told that she would be shuttled to the grocery store, and for the years she's been there she's probably had availability no more than four times. And the activities are extremely limited. There was one individual that is employed that is highly sensitive and excellent. There is one staff person is the primary benefit of her staying there. But it's dated, it has electrical problems, and it has telephone problems. They've finally done some maintenance on the outside of it, but only after family members of residents reported them to the city. If my mother had moved in six months earlier for the same price that she's paying, she would have gotten house cleaning, laundry done, and food. But then they'd cut it all off, so she gets none of the above for the same price that her neighbors are paying, so she gets zero food. They could improve on their pricing, activities, and maintenance. They also could improve more support activities and transportation. They promised that they would transport her to doctor's appointments if family wasn't available, and that's not happening. They're not having birthday parties. I realize the pandemic, but this is Kansas, and Kansas never was closed down like other places. They're not acting like other senior communities in the other parts of Wichita. They have less activities than their competition.

My family member originally went to Lakepoint of Wichita for skilled rehab and was expected to go home but unfortunately was not able. Lakepoint did a tremendous job of transitioning my entire family to the long term care life. The nursing management staff is very envolved and always readily available. The nurses and CNA's are very compassionate and truly care about my loved one. I would truly recommend Lakepoint of Wichita to anyone! Such a great facility! Don't let the old look of this building deceive you! These workers are truly amazing and have helped ease this process for me!

My sister is in Lakepoint Wichita. She is doing really well and everything is really fine. She really likes it there. She started off at the skilled living unit, then she moved into assisted living, and then she moved into independent. Her room is a one-bedroom with a kitchen and a living room. She has two meals a day. She is pleased with the meals. She said they have been really good. She also has laundry and general housekeeping. We have been really pleased with the way they have taken care of her. Everybody has been really friendly, helpful and encouraging. They have been really professional. I was just really pleased with the way they have trusted us coming and going. In terms of activities, they can play bingo, they have crafts, and they have a vehicle that will take them to shopping.
