I toured Anthology of Olathe. It felt like a safe community with locked doors and restricted entry into the living areas. It had nice amenities, like transportation, a library, and exercise programs. If you wanted to, you could buy the meal plan. I liked the flexibility of that.
What I disliked was the apartments in the independent living had such limited closet space, and that would probably be a deal breaker. It was a really, really tiny closet. It was smaller than a coat closet. You couldn't even put a small wardrobe in it.
All the staff seemed friendly and kind. I saw the dining room, I heard that the food was prepared by a chef who is very good. The residents were doing an exercise class when I was there. The facility was beautiful. It was well-maintained and clean.

I went to Anthology of Olathe. It's right up there by the hospital and they even share a parking lot, and I was impressed by that because I want to be near the hospital. I was very impressed with them. They were very nice.
The young woman who took me through was very helpful and I appreciated all the information she gave me. They have a little place for movies and they have a place for a gym. It looked to me like they were well serviced and everyone was extremely pleasant with very nice surroundings. The bedroom was very nice and decent sized, the bathroom was very well appointed, and the colors were very calming.
The facility was very comfortable. They had a little walking area where you could get out if you had a pet or you want to go to the park. The only thing I did not like was that when you are in your apartment, there was no patio or a deck or anything to sit on. Originally, that building had been a Holiday Inn and I guess that's probably why they did not have balconies.

Anthology of Olathe was really good. The grounds were clean and nice. The building was well kept. They were having dinner when we got there, and the food smelled really good. There were a lot of people socializing. The apartments were really clean and updated. There was some live music going on. There were people in the activities room. They were working on puzzles and board games. Some people in the gym were exercising, and some were in the theater room watching a movie. I like that you can make the rooms your own home. If any modifications need to be made like adding grab bars, they would make those accommodations. The staff members were very good, very nice, knowledgeable, and super helpful.

The visit to the Anthology of Olathe was wonderful. The woman that gave me the tour was terrific. She explained everything and showed me everything. I felt very comfortable there. I know that my brother-in-law and his wife would be very comfortable there. They could start out as independent living, which is what I toured. He will eventually end up in memory care. I like the sizes of the rooms. I like the social gathering areas. Everything was lovely.
They have a restaurant, which is nice. They offer a bus to take you places. They have social gatherings at different times of the day. It seems like quite a wonderful community.
It was pretty scarce people-wise the day that I was there. I don't know why, but there were just a couple of people. There were three people in one of the little breakfast lunch area. They were just having their coffee and chatting, but I didn't have a chance to talk to them. Those are the only people I really saw. There were a couple of people coming and going, but that was it. I met the social director and also the activities director. They were both lovely.

The director of Anthology of Olathe, I think his name was John, was really, really nice. The staff too was really, really nice. It just didn't meet all the needs of my parents. The rooms were all up to date, modern, and they've just been recently remodeled, but they're just too small. Their activities are nowhere near in the offerings too.
