Both of my grandparents have lived here. My grandfather was briefly in memory care and was very well cared for and the hospice arranged was very caring. My grandma has lived here for 3 years. Even with the difficulties of Covid she’s had a great experience. She enjoys the activities offered and we are very comfortable that she can transition from independent care to long term assisted care if needed. They have had a lot of staff turnover but all things considered it had been as smooth as could be expected.

We toured StoryPoint Granger. They don't have any porches and all their air conditioning and heating units are sticking out of the walls, so it cuts down on the amount of space that you have inside your apartment. It's just not conducive. You can put your furniture up against that, but it just cuts down the space. The 2-bedroom space is bigger, but it's not because they have things sticking out of the wall. The person that assisted me was the salesperson and she was very critical of other facilities. I don't think that's good business when you're critical of other places. We just looked at a 2-bedroom, independent apartment. The people were mostly sitting outside, but the big problem was that it is right by a big main highway, and it was quite noisy outside. They have barbershops and stores. It was nice, but it has its problems.

The main thing I liked was it was a combination of independent, assisted, and also memory care. They had washing machines where you could do it yourself, and they had service once a week where they'd pick it up and do laundry for you, a beauty shop, and a little place where you could get a snack 24 hours a day. Twice a week, they would go to grocery stores, and they said they did outside trips. The rooms seemed small to me. I only talked to one staff member, and he was very nice, knowledgeable, and quite informative.

The cost is cheaper and the apartment is larger than other places. There are more activities, too, like euchre, bridge, all kinds of games. and scenic bus rides and breakfast at other places if you want to go. They have a very nice laundry room. The staff has been wonderful and follow through on everything. So far, I have been very impressed.

It was a very nice place. The lady who showed me around was very nice. I was looking for everything to be on one floor, and this one is exactly that. They had all levels of care from independent to assisted to dementia, which is very nice. I liked it.
