The independent living apartment at Clarendale Schererville was absolutely beautiful. Everybody I ran into was very friendly and very nice. They seemed to have a lot of activities. They have card games, cocktail hours, a gym with some equipment, and activities off-site. It was really pretty nice. They even gave me a loaf of homemade bread to take home with me. It was a very nice place. If I needed to go to a place right now, that place would be very, very high on my list.

We moved into Clarendale of Schererville independent living in August 2021 and decided to move out three weeks later. Employees are very friendly and helpful, but Clarendale is suffering from extreme staffing shortages. As a result, promised services are inconsistent or not provided at all. If you decide to live here, expect to be disappointed.

We will be moving into Clarendale of Schererville. I like the people and the staff. The place is clean, and the amenities were good. They have a garage, a movie theater, and a restaurant bistro. They have haircutting and nail polishing. The residents were all happy. There's a lot of activities and games, but we didn't play them. We just took the tour.

I went to Clarendale of Schererville to visit people. They have a very friendly staff that I met in the dining room with the couple that I visited. The food was wonderful, and I was impressed. I was not there for a long time, but I felt very nice for the time that I was there. My friend's husband was in the memory care unit there, but I went to her apartment in the independent living. I was there strictly to visit with them, the council, and then eat with them. It was purely social. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. I found the place to be very neat and clean.

I'm staying here at Clarendale of Schererville. The big thing with me was the cost. It's more than I wanted to spend. I wasn't interested in the amenities that they offer here, which are great. I wasn't interested in being involved with a group of people that go to the movies every night, play cards, go lift weights, or whatever amenities they have here. There are a quite a few ameneties, but it wasn't what I had in mind. I took this location because I had to, and I needed a place to live.
They've got a movie theater, a bar, a snack bar, weightlifting equipment, and physical therapy. They got 10 different things, more numerous that I can remember because I wasn't interested in the first place. I didn't come here because of the amenities. I came here because I needed a place to stay, and this was the only thing that was available at the time.
Food is excellent. They've got extensive menus. Like for example, for breakfast they've good eggs, pancakes, waffles, and oatmeal. Sandwiches and salads for lunch. Dinners are a big course. Last night, I had a pasta salad with shrimp and crab legs. They do have an extensive menu that is very tasty, very good, and well prepared. I would give it an excellent rating for the type of establishment it is. Unfortunately, it's not what I'm looking for.
Everything is excellent. The facility is excellent. It's huge. They've got assisted living and independent living. They've got varied activities. They got free bus service for residents for doctor's appointments or whatever. They even take them on a shopping day. They have scheduled trips they take occasionally. They've got a newsletter they put out of activities daily and weekly. I would recommend it for someone that is looking for that type of living. The staff is excellent. The people are great. I've not seen anybody not smiling. It's a very congenial place, and everybody is happy. However, it's more than I wanted to spend; it's just out of my budget.

We visited the Clarendale of Schererville. It was very, very beautiful, very nice, the apartment was nice. All the stuff that comes with it was more than we expected. They had the exercise room and it's two different kinds of rooms for the exercise, and an activity room, but it has a little bar in it and a pool table. That room was nice for socializing. The young lady that gave us the tour was very nice, very knowledgeable, and was thorough in everything. When we walked in, they greeted us and she was on another tour. So we waited, but they were very nice, offered us lemonade or coffee or something, so that was nice. The staff was very nice.
They have like, I guess it was a barista little place right there that they talked about, that was nice. The appearance was clean, very pretty, very appetizing for what I saw. I think one of my daughters had some lemonade or something, so that was fine. They offered transportation within a 12-mile radius, and even if I don't live 12 miles from the place, they could bring her to me and drop her off and pick her up. I thought that was something I hadn't heard of.

We found Clarendale of Schererville for my mother-in-law. She's moving in a few weeks. It was really nice. The director was very, very nice, answered all our questions, and was really thorough. The apartments were really nice and really big. They have exercise classes and crafts. They have a library, a bistro, a salon, a restaurant, and a bar. They made homemade bread that they sent with us, and that was delicious. It was very clean and very well maintained compared to some of the other ones that we've visited.

The staff at Clarendale of Schererville was wonderful, very friendly, and very knowledgeable. The place was big and bright. There were several residents in the dining room area eating, and sitting, and enjoying themselves. But it's not like we sat down and had a meal, but they did give us homemade bread on our way out, which was excellent. They have the full range, they have exercise, physical therapy, they have a movie room, a large gathering room that serves as a social function room, they also have a bar with a piano and a pool table, and they also have an arts and crafts room. They have all of that, and it's a nice place too. Their price is very reasonable, and they probably get more bang for their dollar.

I visited Clarendale of Schererville twice. It was excellent. I liked the two people who gave me the tour, Prinscilla and Anna. I was interested in the eating and recreational facilities, the schedule of senior acitivities, and parking, because I still drive a car. They pretty much covered the areas I was looking at. They also showed me the available houses for rent. They showed me a beauty salon and a place to get a haircut. It is a first class facility. The rooms as well as the parking area are clean and well maintained.
