My parents lived in an Independent living cottage home. They are big! And the sun room is a nice added bonus. They have many amenities of assisted living. However, they still had their Independence. Every member of the staff they met seemed to be very caring and concerned about them. Julie was awesome. They all looked out for them. Would definitely recommend.

My tour at Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe was great. The community is great. I met the head woman over housekeeping and the chef. It was great. It's well kept. I saw the dining area, but I didn't eat anything. They don't have as many activities as some of the others, but they have a little fitness center. They have church services. Because of COVID, they really haven't been doing a lot. Their amenities are not as much as some of the other places, but I like their garden homes. They have attached garages, and I like it. The staff who gave me the tour was great. I like the one meal a day. They have a deal going on that you only pay half-rent for four months now. The people seemed friendly and courteous. It's well kept. The area is clean and orderly. I like the attached garage to my garden home.

The overall experience at Forest Creek Commons was very good. The manager I believe it was met us, and we wanted to see the only stand alone or duplexes, so he met us over at the duplexes and showed us around both a 2-bedroom and a 1-bedroom duplex. They are very well maintained.
It was a beautiful place but not super high end. The counter tops were nice, and the appliances looked very well maintained. It wasn’t granite; I think for my mom and dad that maybe would have made them feeling comfortable because they’re not used to having high end stuff. It would have been a good fit.
We did go around, walking to places where they play cards and watch movies. It seemed to be very well-maintained. The people were walking and sitting around and looked happy. I used to work in the nursing home when I was a kid, and there was no smell at all. You would never know you are in a nursing home. What I liked the best was the fact that people were allowed to bring their pets. In the door, there’s a picture of the cat that said, "hi, I live here. Don’t let me out."
They put a menu up each day, and the food looked delicious; we did not get to eat there, but there’s like a former health kitchen winner who had written about the place. I did speak to the management kind of person; she seemed very personable. Everybody seemed personable and welcoming. If my mom and dad ever decided, I think this would be my first choice.

Forest Creek Commons was definitely one that we liked, and my father-in-law is on the waiting list there. The staff were very helpful when we visited. We walked through and seen the dining area, and it seemed nice. The people were having fresh salad, and the dessert looked good. The rooms were very nice. There were not a lot of activities, and we talked to them about that, but he is looking at independent living, so that wasn't a big issue for him. There were some limitations in terms of the view from the condominium-type units.

We liked the facilities at Forest Creek Commons, it's everything we wanted in a place. We have all amenities that you could ask for, even a garage. They have a lot of good activities here, games, recreation, they take us around the different places and they have good food. It's a very attractive place, looking at it from the highway. Right now, we're settled in with 12 inches of snow and bad roads, it's kind of hard to get out but they do their best to clean it up. We have two bedrooms, kitchen, a full bath, green room and garage. You couldn't ask for anything better than that.

They had one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments at Forrest Creek Commons. They also had garden villas. Their meal plans could be purchase in addition to the rent.
